The European Commission will allocate 30 million euros for the purchase of surplus EU dairy products, due to the Russian embargo. This was stated by the European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Phil Hogan at the informal meeting of agriculture ministers of the EU countries.

These intentions are included in the package of measures to help European farmers affected by the Russian embargo.

For example, as reported, the total aid package includes 500 million euros, 420 million of them - direct financial assistance to farmers, the remaining funds are allocated for the organization of storage products.

"I would like to assure you that about 30 million euros will be allocated to meet the needs of dairy products refugees who find themselves in difficult conditions in neighboring countries" - said Phil Hogan.

According to him, the Commission will seek the highest participation of products produced in the EU, for the solution of the humanitarian crisis which has arisen due to the influx of refugees.

Recall, July 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the destruction of imported products to the territory of Russia, who came under the embargo. The new rules came into effect on August 6 - since the Russians destroyed the sanctions tons of cheese, meat, fruit and the like.
