The EU called on the Member States to start taking on the 6 thousand. Migrants per month

The European Union called on member states to start taking 6 thousand migrants each month from Greece and Italy, to ease the crisis with migrants.

As told reporters the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos, despite migrants redistribution scheme from Greece and Italy to other EU countries, several Member States still do not have undertaken to host a single asylum seeker.

According to him, the EU scheme is crucially important to overcome the crisis, but it will be destroyed if the migrant relocation does not work.

The commissioner, however, expressed optimism that the goal can be reached.

Recall that in September 2015 the European Union adopted a system of compulsory quotas for the EU on the distribution between them in total 160 thousand. Workers, who are now in Greece and Italy, getting to these countries through the sea as the first in the European Union. But now, after seven months, according to this scheme to other countries resettled only about 900 workers. Some Members said that rejecting the compulsory scheme and are free to decide how many migrants they take.
