This is a good example that the old ways of doing business in Ukraine are changing. In the past, if you spoke out against your boss or to anyone in a high position, you were basically toast. Now they're seeing that it's no longer the norm. Now the fears there was before is slowly fading away. They're now speaking up for what's right with no price to pay as before. The old Yanukbich ways of doing business are quickly disappearing.

She noted that the new Attorney General must be a person with legal training and experience in the prosecutor's office.

At the same time, said the People's Deputy, a question of the appointment of the prosecutor general BPP faction leader Yuriy Lutsenko is not.

"The president has made it clear that the leadership there may change, but companies and Ukraine would remain in place," a source said, RBC wrote.

Putin recommended taking a wait-and-see approach as long as there is still hope for the normalization of relations, it said.

"He [Putin] also said that one could feel pressure in the [Ukrainian] financial and banking sector, but the situation could be different with industrial assets. But his assessment was: 'One can wait to see how the developments will be unfolding,'" the source said..............

Why is he not pulling out? He can see that Ukraine's getting all kinds of assistance to stand on its own two feet, so his plans to bring it down, he's aware isn't working. So if he wants to have that income to Russia and himself (who knows how much of those assets are his) he'll keep things the way it is, to help him bounce back up later, one is all said and done.

He pulls it out now, his oligarchs that have investments there will lose big, along with him losing in the end and they'll turn against him. The only thing that will really do him in is, if Ukraine's government confiscates those Russian assets. The he's screwed royally.

He thinks association between him and Ukraine will get back to normal. It'll never get back to that point, as Ukraine knows it'll keep the door open for him to cause future issues again and have more influence of the business industry in Ukraine. If he's brought this issue up, it's either his business sector are showing concern, or he himself knows it can be an issue. So he's trying to say, "Ukraine, we can good partners again", and deep inside he's pleading for cooperation.
Russia will do everything possible to ensure that Russian military servicemen Yevgeny Yerofeyev and Alexander Alexandrov are not sentenced by the Ukrainian court, Deputy Prosecutor General, Ukraine's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios has said.

A verdict of the Ukrainian court would serve as an evidence of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, Matios said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.

He noted that the verdict would also serve as grounds to appeal to international institutions with respect to specific individuals................

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said that for the last year Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has managed to reveal and not to make over 200 terrorist attacks happened, which have mainly been prepared on the territory of Russian Federation.

Poroshenko participated in the solemn meeting of the SBU congratulating its personal staff and the leadership with the 24th anniversary, the president's press service reported on Friday.

The head of state stressed that the Security Service had been drastically changed for two years.

He said that in 2015 over 200 terrorist attacks had been prevented in Ukraine the majority of which were planned in Rostov and Belgorod regions.

"They planned terrorist attacks in Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv and Lviv. Their purpose is to intimidate the country and destabilize the internal political situation. They are the key element of the hybrid war against Ukraine," he said......................

Russia has not been able to line up a suitable lead manager for a planned $3 billion eurobond because of U.S. and European Union pressure on major banks not to participate, meaning the high-profile sale is likely to be delayed or even shelved, senior officials said, according to Bloomberg.

Only two Western banks are still interested in helping sell the bond, one of the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity, according to Bloomberg.

Another official said Russia so far hasn't been able to find a bank big enough to successfully lead the issue that would be willing to participate, despite sending out requests for bids to about two dozen major banks earlier this year.

Relying on Russian banks could deter western investors, since the country's main lenders are subject to U.S. and EU sanctions.

A prominent underwriter is important for the Kremlin but pressure on banks from the U.S. and EU proved stronger than the government expected, the official said, according to the report.............

Sentence of Nadia Savchenko is not the end of a story of the Kremlin’s Ukrainian hostage. This sham trial should launch a series of steps aimed at the release of the rest of the Ukrainians, who are being held illegally in Russian dungeons.

Savchenko’s case and the ridiculous, and at the same time cruel, trial have been in the global focus for months. Her sentence has caused a real uproar: 22 years in jail for the alleged murder of two Russian journalists, who were illegally staying in the east of Ukraine for the information support of pro-Russian militants, as well as a fine for "illegal border crossing," given that Ukrainian pilot was forcibly transported to Russia.

At the same time, other cases of the Russian “justice” being applied to several dozen Ukrainians illegally held in the Russian Federation cause just as much indignation. "There are at least 25 people of whom we are aware. Of them, 13 are held in captivity in the territory of Russia, and another 12 – in the Russian-occupied Crimea," said the human rights activist, Euromaidan-SOS initiative coordinator, Chairman of the Centre for Civil Liberties NGO Oleksandra Matviychuk.

And, unfortunately, the list is not shrinking – there were new arrests of activists in Crimea in February this year.

There is one common thing about all Ukrainian citizens who have gotten under the steamroller of Russian judicial system: the Russians crave to present them as enemies, with trumped-up charges wheeled out by torture – of terrorism, extremism, sabotage, or espionage. As a result, it was innocent people who fell victim to the Russian “law enforcers” in almost all cases known to the human rights activists.

The most famous of them are Oleh Sentsov (20 years' imprisonment in a top security penal facility), Alexander Kolchenko (10 years in top security penal facility), Hennadiy Afanasiev, Oleksiy Chirniy (seven years in top security penal facility each), who are all part of the so-called “Crimean terrorists” case. Not only have they been charged of setting up a terrorist cell in a fabricated case and then transferred to Moscow for further investigation, the Russian "law enforcers" also told the Ukrainian diplomats not to worry about the fate of the suspects, as Russia considers them Russian citizens (as residents of Crimea).

Stanislav Klykh and Mykola Karpyuk are tried in a so-called "Chechen case," where Ukraine’s Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, believe it or not, is also among the accused. Russian law enforcers argue that Klykh and Karpyuk in the mid-90s, along with Yatsenyuk, took part in the first Chechen war allegedly killing Russian soldiers. Despite the fact that, regardless of the absurdity of the charges, the statute of limitations expired in 2010, Ukrainians are being tried in Chechnya anyway.

A week ago the SBU announced the capture of a terrorist cell that was based in Odesa and targeting the south-Ukrainian Kherson Oblast. The cell was reportedly targeting an unidentified facility of the Ukrainian State Penitentiary services and was also planning “attacks related to ethnic minorities in the Kherson Oblast. A court in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania on March 24 dropped one of 10 charges filed against a Ukrainian man who had posed as an American high school student.

The charge of identity theft was dropped after the court determined that Artur Samarin, 23, didn't actually steal the American name he used, Asher Potts, from anyone living in the United States.

The court let stand other charges against Samarin, however, including statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, for his having sex with an underage girl while attending a Pennsylvania high school.

There is an acute shortage of welders, plumbers, loath-machine operators, sanitation engineers in the Czech Republic, Radio Praha says.

“Employing Ukrainians is a necessity as without them many Czech businesses will go bankrupt,” says vice president of the CR economic chamber Bartoneva Palkova.

Main Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios announced today at a briefing, Censor.NET informs.

BPP (Petra Poroshenko’s Bloc) faction head Yury Lutsenko threatens to leave the coalition if the new cabinet is not formed in the nearest time, he writes in Facebook March 24.

He gives the details of a recent meeting of faction heads to resolve the crisis.

“Today, a meeting of major players BPP, Yatseniuk-led People’s Front, Samopomich, Radical party and Batkivshchyna has taken place. The majority coalition has broken down. International partners demand stability and responsible attitude from political players,” Lutsenko writes.

“There is no time left for debates and backstage deals. The voting on the cabinet must take place within the nearest days to come,” Lutsenko says.

“If the attempts to save one’s posts during numerous pointless ‘discussions’ continue, I will leave the coalition at the end of next week.

Those who want real change, not the continuation of blackmail and horse-trading, will do the same,” Yury Lutsenko said.
Poroshenko wants Shokin’s deputy Yury Stolyarchuk to take over as prosecutor general, reform-minded lawmaker Serhy Leshchenko writes in Facebook March 25.

“Pres Poroshenko is still keeping mum about his nominee for prosecutor general. His office again wants to make the nomination at the eleventh hour and force Rada to vote in package for ministerial posts,” he says.

“President’s office spin doctors have started to plant messages in the media, praising Stolyarchuk,” he notes.

Ukrayinska Pravda laid its hands on internal instructions by BPP to its lawmakers of March 24 with ‘topics and arguments for discussions’ which proposes to criticize Viktor Shokin for dismissing progressive prosecutors headed by David Sakvarelidze and to stress that Stolyarchuk will reinstate them in office as soon as he becomes prosecutor general, Leshchenko said.

Shokin's removal won't be fast enough. It has to be done ASAP.

I'd recommend Lutsenko, as he held the position in the past and he doesn't hold punches.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has raised all issues that are of paramount importance for Ukraine at the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

"The issues that are crucial for us concern Nadiia Savchenko, the Donbas, and Crimea. They all have been tackled and clearly articulated," Klimkin told journalists on Friday responding to a question on the results of negotiations on Ukraine between John Kerry and Vladimir Putin in Moscow.   In Ukrainian/український

Today, Kursk's District Attorney formally charged Li with libel, saying she wrote a newspaper article last fall where she accused a local judge of making several illegal rulings. (The judge reportedly complained to the police, in response)....

"For the past day killed as a result of fighting between Ukrainian military there, six of our guys injured," - said the colonel.
Responding to a question clarifying, Lysenko said that five soldiers were wounded at Avdeevki - one at Novotroickoe.
This was due to enemy attacks with different weapons.

But he also mentions the IMF as "our partner".
I would expect that some smaller parties won't want to agree with what the IMF want. Not popular.
That's probably why he's mentioned this.

Conditions as stated a couple of posts above.

The suspense grows...
What is going on?
I think Groisman as PM. Parubiy as Speaker (super boring, but... c'est la vie).
Coalition - BPP, narodni front, Liashko and Tymoshenko.
Not that Tymoshenko will do anything other than criticise, if she sees it advantagous for her political popularity.
Likely the same with Liashko.
Liashko would make a much more lively speaker, to be honest. But he is a complete buffoon, or baboon, .. or both. jocolor

From October 2016 in Poland will come into effect stricter rules of employment of foreign seasonal workers, which the country adopted under pressure from Brussels. These changes will affect most Ukrainian labor migrants, who make up the vast majority (90%) among those traveling to Poland for seasonal work, says Currently, a simplified procedure for official employment permits citizens of Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine to work in Poland without a work permit for 6 months during the year without obtaining a work permit. For this Polish employer must submit to the county Department of Labor statement of intent to employ foreigners. This form of temporary employment of foreigners massively used by Polish agricultural producers. After 30 September 2016, according to the order of the European Union, Poland will be introduced new administrative procedures which will require obtaining a work permit. Such permits throughout 2015 was issued 69,000, while as a statement of intent execution orders of foreigners was registered 10 times - up 782,000.
Expect a lot of illegal workers. Fewer rights.

Everybody putting in unrealistic demands. Although I agree with all Samopomich ask for. But those in power won't want a fair voting system.
...The idea of creating a "government of technocrats" headed by Jaresko was not supported.
This is in the air "5 channel" said MP from "Samopomich" Ruslan Sidorovich.
"When was asked who support a technocratic government led by Jaresko, none of the representatives of the factions who were present there -  the" Narodni Front "or the" Batkivshina " or the " Radical Party " or the " Block Petro Poroshenko " or the " Samopomich "- expressed willingness to vote for it," - said Sydorovych...

It's getting to look a lot like Groisman.
There was a poll on tv last night. About 5000 people had voted when I saw it.
Groisman for PM. In favor - 8% , and against - 92%. Not exactly popular with the public!
...."I repeated promises by President Obama that sanctions will be lifted if all items Minsk agreements are met, including the withdrawal of all troops and guns and returning sovereignty to the Ukrainian border", - said Kerry.....
Putin knows he will never do this. Putin wants war.
