Panama Papers reveal companies blacklisted by US

Amid the prime ministers and actors named in the massive leak of documents from a secretive Panamanian law firm, the list also includes at least 33 individuals and companies who are on the US sanctions blacklist.
According to the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, which led the investigation into the leaked documents, the list of individuals and companies asking for help setting up shell companies contains a North Korean bank and companies linked to a cousin of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.
While much of the attention and outrage surrounding the so-called “Panama Papers” has centred on how the super-rich avoid paying taxes, the US authorities are likely to be just as focused on what the documents reveal about money laundering, terrorism finance and potential evasions of sanctions....................
