News -
Russian proxies fire 12 times at Ukrainian positions. One soldier injured.

Weather -
Cloudy morning. Some thunder and lightning overnight here in Kiev. Heavy rain.
But now ok. Should be a pleasant day. Chance of rain in later afternoon. High maybe of 16. Ok.
Update - actually quite humid. Had a bbq. 20C. But sticky.

Flowers -
People all over Ukraine carrying flowers this weekend. I think today is the day people remember their loved ones who are no longer with them.

Monday 09 May - will be Victory Day. Expect mega war display by Putin in Moscow. Also Donetsk. Will Zarharchenko be drunk again?
Kiev. Not sure - I think some march. A couple of groups.

Representatives of Night Wolves motorcycle club headed by Alexander "Khirurg" Zaldostanov came to Prague on May 7.

Correspondent of Оtkrytaya Rossiya Denis Shekhanin witnessed not only the arrival of the bikers, but also an outside broadcast by a female reporter for Russia 24 TV channel. His report shows how the reality looks like and how it is represented by the Russian state media, Censor.NET reports.

About fifty "patriotic bikers" carry out motocross, dedicated to the Victory Day, across Europe, while the people and governments of the corresponding countries do all their best to stop them. The "Wolves" came to Prague almost accidentally: the permission for the motocross was given by a regular employee of the city administration who did not know that they were pro-Putin activists. Prague Mayor Adriana Krnacova and her deputy Petr Dolinek disagreed with the passing of Night Wolves through the city at the last moment, but it was too late to cancel the event.

The bikers traveled through the very center of Prague, but on Wenceslas Square, one of the main tourist spots of the city, they were met not with applause and carnations, but with middle fingers.  In Ukrainian/український
Путин не поздравил президентов Украины и Грузии с Днем победы

Vladimir Putin has not congratulated the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia on Victory Day. It follows from the text of the official congratulations to the head of the Russian Federation on the Kremlin website. The press service of the Russian president noted that "Vladimir Putin congratulated the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, as well as the citizens of Georgia and Ukraine to the 71 th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war. "

What a petty little tyrant.
...."This war was unleashed by the Russian aggressor state, and the sin of manslaughter is borne entirely by them, who, with their imperial psychosis and bloody hands, have started this murderous war," the president said....

За добу поранили 1 бійця під Тарамчуком
In Ukrainian. No deaths.
....Alongside the rising pomp of May 9, history itself has been moulded by the government to solidify its position. A mythologized version of war heroism has emerged, reinforced by a steady flow of glossy state-subsidized patriotic movies.

...Dmitriyev, the idea's originator, is also anxious. "Everything this is now turning into is not right," he says, "all of this organization and agreed numbers and times. Guys, stop, just stop. You're all people. You all have grandfathers who fought. Let's just remember them. Sometimes this turns into dancing on bones. Who needs it?"

Who needs it? Putin does.
In Moscow - a mega-militaristic nationalistic parade now.
In Ukraine - people take the minibus to the local village, and lay flowers on graves of their loved ones, family.
Quite a contrast.

Ukraine Airlines gives you everything: shyte planes, insane fares, obnoxious ground staff & the knowledge you're funding an oligarch. Lovely.
Well, one has to give Walker, the Russiaprofile = RIA Novosti = Guardian " reporter" credit where it is due.
Normally Walker writes about Ukrainian fascists, anti-semitism, neo-Nazi marches, whatever, you name it.
But this post by him is almost pleasant. Thank you, Shaun ! Very Happy
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called on Ukrainians to unite so as not to "become a very easy prey for the enemy in a hybrid war."
"The record teaches us that, when we lapse into amnesia, we become a very easy prey for the enemy in a hybrid war. We have learned to defend our land, and we have built one of the most powerful and certainly one of the most patriotic and strongest armies on the continent. The enemy realized that attempts to directly attack our boundaries have no prospects," Poroshenko said in unveiling a monument to Hetman Ivan Mazepa in Poltava on Saturday.
The enemy has now switched to a different tactic, that is, "financing and supporting fifth columns, which are destroying Ukrainian unity," Poroshenko said.
"Politicians should also take history lessons today and, most importantly, for the future. I'd stress once again that a lack of unity has repeatedly been fatal to Ukraine. This is a more than obvious conclusion from events of both the 18th and the 20th century," Poroshenko said.
The coal from the occupied territories of Donbas is officially supplied to Ukraine, said the Minister of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Vadym Chernysh, according to 112 Ukraine TV channel....
What happened to South African coal?
Personally - I think they shouldn't support the Donbas in this way. People will simply be happier with life in the occupied zones.

Apparently some official under the Yanukovich regime.
Can't translate. This story caught my eye.
Notice post by Admin yesterday. They've met with a lot of opposition this year. Protests in Prague, for example.
Putin's lies are past their sell-by date. The facade is falling. Putin now being associated with Hitler. Not the opposite, as is the Kremlin plan.
