Ukraine crisis. News in brief. Friday 13 May [Ukrainian sources] Empty The EU has clarified the conditions of visa-free regime with Ukraine (Columnist)

http://obozrevatel.com/politics/56807-v-es-utochnili-usloviya-bezvizovogo-rezhima-s-ukrainoj.htm
The introduction of a visa-free regime between Ukraine and the European Union does not provide entitlement to work in the EU Member States.
This was stated by the EU Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos, quoted him as saying the EU representative office in Ukraine on your page to Facebook.
"Exemption from the visa does not provide for the right to work in the EU and the proper observance of the visa-free rule will be important," - said the European official.
"I know that the Ukrainian government has already begun to inform its citizens about this I expect the moment when the Ukrainian citizens will travel with our Schengen area without a visa This is the moment, which Ukraine and its people deserve.." - He added.
Avramopoulos sure that the visa-free regime is a great opportunity for the EU and Ukraine to become closer to each other....

=====
Youn can guarantee that tens of thousands of Ukrainians will head west looking for work (illegal work, but work, all the same).

Ukraine crisis. News in brief. Friday 13 May [Ukrainian sources] Empty Ukraine's Revolution fatigue: Poroshenko repeats mistakes of Yushchenko

Fri May 13, 2016 4:00 am
http://bunews.com.ua/politics/item/ukraines-revolution-fatigue-oligarchs-still-in-control-as-poroshenko-repeats-mistakes-of-yushchenko
....Currently there are only a handful of political forces potentially capable of liberating Ukraine from colonial-oligarchic rule. Unsurprisingly, their popularity is growing. These include Yulia Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchina, ....
=====
WARNING!! This is by scumball Taras Kuzio.

I have absolutely no doubt that Kuzio is still on Tymoshenko's payroll.
Article - frankly not worth reading. Bizarrely Kuzio states that it was Yuschenko, and not Tymoshenko, who formed an alliance with Yanukovich, presumably to remove himself from the Presidency!

All this to be expected from Kuzio.
When Tymoshenko's rival was Yushchenko, he attacked Yush.
When Tymoshenko's rival was Yatseniuk - he attacked yatseniuk - in the Kyiv Post, calling him a "jew".... with one aim only - to try to reduce his popularity in Ukraine, where there is some anti-semitism. (as in most countries in the world).
When Tymoshenko's rival - now for the Presidency - is Poroshenko - Kuzio now starts turning his attention to Poroshenko.
As predictable as the sun rising in the morning, or the Kyiv Post kissing Tymoshenko's butt.
(The Kyiv Post owner shown to have business links with lazerenko and Tymoshenko in the Panama papers).

Frankly, not a lot in the article.
Ukraine qualify for the final. Their song has been well-received.
Whatever, it will now get some good publicity.

Ukraine crisis. News in brief. Friday 13 May [Ukrainian sources] Empty Jamala's Ukraine Eurovision song stirs up Russia [Engl; Teleg]

Fri May 13, 2016 4:14 am
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2016/05/11/jamalas-ukraine-eurovision-song-stirs-up-russia/
...While her song avoids direct reference to Vladimir Putin's 2014 annexation of Crimea, Ms Jamaladinova, whose stage name is Jamala, has left no-one in any doubt about where her sympathies lie. The lyrics begin:

"When strangers are coming/
They come to your house/
They kill you all/
And say/
We're not guilty/Not guilty."

Russian officials and some politicians in Crimea have complained that the song was intended to denigrate Russia. But the Geneva-based organisers decided the song was not in breach of the competition's rules against political speech....

Ukraine crisis. News in brief. Friday 13 May [Ukrainian sources] Empty Eurovision Song Contest 2016: Ukraine putting up a fight for Russian favourite [Engl]

http://metro.co.uk/2016/05/05/eurovision-song-contest-2016-ukraine-putting-up-a-fight-for-russian-favourite-5861809/
===
From the Metro.
If you ever sit on an Underground train (metro) in London you are almost certain to find a copy of the Metro!
...Ukraine’s odds have been around 33/1 since 1944 was selected as their entry but crashed this morning, moving ahead of Australia Austria at 6/1. Ukraine is now just behind Russia and France in the betting....
The song, performed by Jamala is very different from anything else in this year’s Eurovision line-up, with strong ethnic sounds and a haunting music beat. If a song is going to win because it stands out strongly from anything else in the show, this could well be the one....
...
===
I didn't realise - the song is in both English and the Tartar language.

Modified as Australia hasn't yet floated over to Europe. Very Happy

...."It is very important that we start a pension reform. In addition, it is important for me and for the country to change the budgetary process. And we will do it this year," Danylyuk said, adding that it was necessary to make public finance more transparent.....

This could be the next big problem for Poroshenko on the road of changing the Ukrainian economy from a Soviet one to a western one.
And you can guarantee that the populists -- Liashko, Tymoshenko, Opposition block - will criticise whatever he does !
But - it needs to be done.
However - life expectancy in Ukraine - must be amongst the lowest in Europe. So - does Ukraine need to match the retirement age in the UK, or Germany?
There are very few men left here who make it to 80, never mind 90! Alcohol and cigarettes take their toll.

Not the greatest of translations by whomever.
If Putin is now using attack drones, then this is upping the stakes. More and more technology from Russia. Putin testing out his new weapon systems on the Ukrainian people.

[Basically, the above story, but in English, with more detail]
Three top editors from Russia's RBC media group, whose reports about Vladimir Putin have irked the Kremlin, left their jobs on Friday with one source saying they were worried their managers were bowing to Kremlin pressure over their reporting.
The exodus is a setback for what is widely regarded as one of the few independent media groups in Russia in a landscape otherwise dominated by state media outlets that closely toe the Kremlin's line....
