News:
46 attacks by Putin on Ukraine. Update - 4 soldiers wounded.
Since the French senate backed Putin, and he also met with the Greek PM he has grown in confidence, and realised he can up the war again without any consequences whatsoever from the scum in western Europe, many of whom are undoubtedly on his payroll. Gasprom shares probably.

Weather:
Warmer this morning again. 17 at 0900. Sunshine. Some light clouds.

Footie:
Euro2016 starts this evening. Ukraine's first game is on Sunday against World Champions Germany.
You can't get any harder than that.

Russia faces another 6 months of EU sanctions - media

Deliberate effort to blind OSCE SMM intended to conceal from international community buildup of combined Russian-separatist forces in eastern Ukraine - Baer

Deliberate effort to blind OSCE SMM intended to conceal from international community buildup of combined Russian-separatist forces in eastern Ukraine - Baer
http://en.interfax.com.ua/news/general/349263.html
...."Within a single week, combined Russian-separatist forces shot down the SMM's two long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) near Horlivka... Combined Russian-separatist forces also sabotaged OSCE cameras outside of Donetsk, which are critical to monitoring volatile hot spots like the area between Avdiyivka and Yasynuvata, and they have refused to allow the SMM access to fix them. OSCE reporting confirms that combined Russian-separatist forces are responsible for over 80% of the SMM access restrictions, especially in hotspots like Avdiyivka and along Ukraine's border with Russia. This deliberate effort to blind the SMM is intended to conceal from the international community the buildup of combined Russian-separatist forces in eastern Ukraine, the advanced Russian weaponry these forces have in their arsenal, and the military personnel and materiel that regularly cross the border from Russia into Ukraine," Baer said at the OSCE Permanent Council on June 9, according to the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.....

Ok report, from naive Spanish-Cuba expert Rainsford. For some reason, the bbc have stuck her in Moscow.

Details on the long delayed "free visa" regime

Post by Nelson on Fri Jun 10, 2016 4:11 am

As a returning visa: details about why and how long delayed visa regime, it was officially confirmed that the "true European" reported in the last month, "according to sources."
http://www.eurointegration.com.ua/articles/2016/06/10/7050556/
June 10 at a planned meeting in Luxembourg, the EU Council at the Head of Ukrainian Interior Ministry to discuss visa-free regime, but ... has not taken any decision. The issue simply is not put to the vote.
As a result, in summer 2016 the EU will not introduce a visa regime for citizens of Ukraine. The most optimistic option is now autumn.
And, despite the statements of European officials, it is - not a "technical delay" and political.
And here is that the EU currently does not told us "no." The political decision on visa-free travel for Ukraine, no one questions the.
This option is now not even discussed.
But this does not mean that we can rest easy.
Three months ago, few imagined the current problems - apparently, we are at the finish line and in August we can forget about the visa. But the "new circumstances" ...
Just now, unfortunately, there are scenarios in which our prospects could be even worse. And perhaps the biggest danger in these scenarios comes from ... Ukraine itself.
Therefore, details on today's "schedules", the reasons and key threat - in "European truth."

===
My guess was 01 September. But... that is looking unlikely now.
They will certainly resist any vote until after the British EU referendum.

Ukraine’s visa-free travel to EU delayed - WSJ

Post by Nelson on Fri Jun 10, 2016 4:40 am

Ukraine’s visa-free travel to EU delayed - WSJ
http://www.unian.info/politics/1371462-ukraines-visa-free-travel-to-eu-delayed-wsj.html
...Bloc’s biggest member states raise new concerns over the issue of granting Ukraine, Georgia and Kosovo the visa-free regime, pushing the approval to September at the earliest, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Germany is reported to be concerned about organized crime by Georgian gangs, while France is worried that the visa waivers could create new security vulnerabilities at a time of heightened terror fears.  Other countries have also slowed down approval. Italy and France have said a decision should await the approval of new rules which will make it easier to suspend visa-free regimes in case of abuse. The European Parliament is only expected to formally back the changes in September....

====
This will put more pressure on western leaning Ukrainian politicians. And make Ukraine more unstable.
But looking east - to Putin - is no longer attractive. Putin has burnt the bridges.
Ukraine is being left on its own. European promises are fading to dust. ...

Georgia, Kosovo, Ukraine’s Visa-Free Access to EU Delayed
http://www.wsj.com/articles/georgia-kosovo-ukraines-visa-free-access-to-eu-delayed-1465486485
....On Thursday, Mykola Tochytskyi, Ukraine’s ambassador to the EU, said he hoped EU governments and the parliament would formally approve Kiev’s visa bid by early autumn at the latest.
He warned however that any further delays and linking Ukraine’s bid with others would hurt the EU’s credibility. That will add to domestic pressure on the government when it is trying to push difficult legislation through parliament connected to its economic program and the Minsk peace agreement with Russia.
“It’s very difficult to explain at home…why we should be linked to other countries for purely political reasons,” Mr. Tochytskyi said. “The key issue is not to stop this process (of approval).”....

Poroshenko signs legislative amendments on tax exemption of pensions

Post by Admin on Fri Jun 10, 2016 2:47 pm

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed Law on Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine on Tax Exemption of Pensions adopted by the Parliament on June 2.

The head of state emphasized that the authorities had managed to save the country from default in 2015 and achieve macro-financial stability of the economy in early 2016, Censor.NET reports citing the president's press office.

"At the cost of tremendous efforts, we have managed to break the negative trend of decline in the economy and GDP of Ukraine, which lasted 14 quarters," Petro Poroshenko informed.

The head of state emphasized that the decline had been primarily caused by the Russian aggression, occupation of the large industrial region of our country, dismantling and destruction of production in that region and closure of Russian markets for Ukrainian producers. "Of course, these aggressive actions couldn't but affect our economic positions," the president said.

However, the situation has changed today and we have a positive dynamics. "In the first quarter of 2016, for the first time in 14 quarters, we observe the economic growth. We are confident that this trend will be continued, because we have a growth in foreign investment and attract new investors," Petro Poroshenko noted.

According to the head of state, all these factors provide an opportunity not only to ensure normal activity of the country, but also to abolish fiscal pressure on pensions.

"The first such steps allow us to ensure not only the funding of the Armed Forces, but also the protection of pensioners - those who need assistance most. This law abolishes taxation of pensions," the president emphasized.

Savchenko: Ukraine Needs Early Parliamentary Elections

Post by Admin on Fri Jun 10, 2016 6:06 pm

Savchenko said the government in Kyiv has failed to live up to public expectations raised by the ouster of Ukraine's former pro-Russian government in February 2014.

Savchenko spent nearly two years in Russian captivity before she was released in May and returned to a hero's welcome in Ukraine. She was elected to parliament in 2014 while in custody.

On June 7, Savchenko said she was willing to talk with Russia-backed separatist leaders in eastern Ukraine to try to end the nation's two-year-old conflict.

Savchenko told Ukrainian media that she believes direct peace talks with separatist leaders would be more effective than the current, unproductive talks that have included Russia, Ukraine, France, and Germany.............

Former political prisoner Zmitser Dashkevich and Young Front activists picketed Wednesday’s official opening of a mural which symbolizes Moscow-Minsk friendship.
