British Geophysics recorded a sharp increase in cracks in the Larsen C ice shelf in Antarctica. From March to August 2016 increased length of 22 kilometers.

During 2016 crack grew faster than the same period last observation. Further spread of strains lead to cleavage ten percent of the largest areas of the glacier.
In this case the water gets huge iceberg measuring about six thousand square kilometers - an area equivalent to the area of Scotland. The exact date of this event gave researchers predict.
Larsen is the northernmost of the great glaciers of Antarctica.
