The head of the Munich Security Conference criticized Trump's unpredictability: It must build its own political course

Chairman of the Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger (Wolfgang Ischinger) criticized the policy of Donald Trump as an unpredictable and advise the new US president is not personally use Twitter microblog.

As reported Tsenzor.NET with reference to the DW , about it he said in an interview with the German newspaper Bild, published on Thursday, February 16 pointing to extremely intensive use Trump microblog.

"Who speaks so rudely on the media's own security services and judicial authorities as the President, he harms his predictability and his team," - said Ischinger.

With the arrival of Trump to power in US foreign policy there "maximum uncertainty," said Ischinger.

This policy is not a serial line, according to the German diplomat: "He had previously said that he wanted to build a completely new relationship with Russia, and now demands that Russia returned to the Crimea Trump must build its own political course and follow it.".

Critical Ischinger said Trump employees and administration capabilities. According to him, the supreme value of foreign policy - the confidence and predictability.

"If the US president surrounds himself with people who reinforce it, then half the work is already done," - said the head of the Munich conference.

"If you surround yourself with staff whose actions raise more questions than answers, the confidence and predictability are lost", - he said, Ischinger.

Earlier, a spokesman for the White House Sean Spicer said the US president Donald Trump expects Russia to de-escalate the violence in the Donbas and returning Crimea to Ukraine. Spicer also said that Washington's policy of sanctions against Moscow would remain unchanged.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry, commenting on the statement by Sean Spicer said that find their peninsula and to return it, they do not plan to.

Also, according to The New York Times, members of the electoral headquarters of Donald Trump and his aides have repeatedly been in contact with senior representatives of the Russian intelligence service in an election year.

As is known, Russia has occupied the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in 2014. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has officially announced February 20, 2014-the beginning of the temporary occupation of the Crimea and Sevastopol Russia. Key international organizations, including the UN General Assembly, condemned Russia's actions and called the illegal occupation and annexation of the Crimea. Economic sanctions were imposed against Russia. For carrying out the so-called Moscow elections with the participation of the Crimea in 2016, the Ukrainian parliament recognized the State Duma illegitimate.

Ukraine crisis. News in brief. Thursday 16 February. [Ukrainian sources] Empty Trains go to "DPR/LPR" through Russia, bypass blockade, - Vinohrodskyi

Trains go to "DPR/LPR" through Russia, bypass blockade, - Vinohrodskyi

Participants of the blockade are ready to block all railroad lines to stop the trade with occupants.

As reported by Censor.NET quoting one of the blockade leaders Anatolii Vinohrodskyi, freight trains bound for occupied territory in the Donbas have switched to other routes, bypassing the blocked lines.

"To date, in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, only the Mariupol line has not been shut down ... In the Kharkiv region, trains carry food products to occupied territory. We know that the SBU issued no permits for the transportation of food. However, all the stores in Donetsk and Luhansk are packed with these products. So, they go through the Kharkiv region and across Russia," he said.

He also commented on Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman's remarks on the need to convene the National Security and Defense Council to address the blockade issue:

"We are looking forward to hearing Hroisman. In fact, he had to convene an NSDC meeting after assuming the post of prime minister to deal with the dependence of Ukraine on deliveries from the aggressor state. If Russia decided to block the deliveries and the railway, what would Mr Hroisman do? ... If he convenes an NSDC meeting, he'd better discuss there the idleness of his ministers and the ongoing war," Vinohrodskyi said.

According to him, the participants of the blockade are ready to shut down other Ukraine-Russia commercial routes, including the port of Odesa. Vinohrodskyi is sure no force-based scenario will be used: "Who will do that? The army is forbidden to take part in an internal conflict under the Constitution. The police and the National Guard have already refused to get involved. If angry factory workers come around, we'll make them change their mind. I'm sure we'll cope."

The transportation of Buk surface-to-air missile launcher, used to take down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, was carried out by retired Russian Major General Sergey Dubinsky, also known as "DPR" militant nicknamed Khmuryi.

Censor.NET reports referring to an article by the Bellingcat MH17 Investigation Team.

Earlier, Bellingcat claimed the involvement of the 69th Separate Logistics Brigade of the Russian armed force in the transportation of the launcher. The investigators arrived at the conclusion based on a number of social media photos taken by the military in the Rostov region during the transportation.

Earlier, Censor.NET published exclusive photos of the hangar and the submunitions of Russian missile Buk-M1-2 involved in the downing of Boeing MH17 in the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014. It was established that submunitions that hit the Boeing exactly match those from the warhead of the latest Russian anti-aircraft missile Buk-M1-2. The system was developed in 1997, put into service of the Russian army in 1998, and was never delivered to Ukraine. In addition, independent experts from Germany, England and Poland studied the fragments of the debris and concluded they were part of a Russian Buk missile. Modern chemical analysis has identified the composition of the metal and found parts of the glass and skin of the same downed Boeing that had been cut by these elements prior to hitting the people.

In November 2015, President Poroshenko visited the Netherlands and said that Ukraine would take advantage of its membership in the U.N. Security Council for the investigation of the MH17 tragedy.

In May 2016, Australian law firm LHD filed a lawsuit against Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin to the European Court for Human Rights on behalf of the relatives of those killed in the downed aircraft. According to the lawyers, Putin comes as key culprit and has to pay $10 million for each killed passenger.

On July 17, 2016, Poroshenko said that Russia was the only country inhibiting the investigation into the MH17 crash.

"Russia, abusing the right of veto, blocked the decision of the U.N. Security Council to establish the International Tribunal to investigate the downing of MH17, which is an indirect and logical proof of its involvement in the crime. In spite of this, we and our partners are working and doing everything necessary to ensure accountability of all those behind this tragedy," the Ukrainian leader remarked.

On Sept. 28, 2016, the Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team (JIT) came up with a report on the first official results of the probe into the MH17 tragedy.

The JIT said the plane was shot down with a Buk missile launched from a separatist-controlled area. According to the investigators, the launcher arrived from Russia, while some 100 people were involved in its transportation and operation.

Ukraine crisis. News in brief. Thursday 16 February. [Ukrainian sources] Empty Dutch Public Prosecution Service says a lot remains unclear in radar images obtained from Russia under MH17 downing investigation

Thu Feb 16, 2017 10:01 pm
Dutch Public Prosecution Service says a lot remains unclear in radar images obtained from Russia under MH17 downing investigation

To date, a lot remains unclear regarding the radar images that were made available by the Russian Federation to the criminal investigation into the downing of flight MH17.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the statement by Dutch Public Prosecution Service.

According to the law enforcement agency, this is mainly caused by the unusual and deviating format in which the radar images were provided. Therefore, it is still not possible to establish with certainty if these images are authentic and what these images are exactly showing.

The Dutch Public Prosecution Service (OM) sent a first request for legal assistance to the Russian Federation back in October 2014. The agency requested all information which might have ben relevant for the investigation. In late September 2016, the Russian Federation released new radar images on television. These images were made available to the Dutch OM one month later.

As the OM already stated in September 2016 at the international presentation for the next of kin, the fact that the BUK missile is not visible on the radar images does not mean it was not there.

For the exchange of information air traffic control agencies often make use of the so called ASTERIX format, which has been developed by Eurocontrol. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) does not oblige the use of this format, but in a manual it does mention the ASTERIX format as a useful standard. The ASTERIX format is internationally accepted and is being used worldwide. Data transmitted in the ASTERIX format can be interpreted and verified for manipulation and mistakes in a reliable way. Publications on websites that are linked to the Russian authorities show that the Russian Federation also uses the ASTERIX format.

The Russian Federation has not provided the radar data using the ASTERIX format. In order to still be able to analyse the images, the Russian authorities had included separate software without a manual.

This software was written in Russian, so first of all it had to be translated. Subsequently, this software had to be tested both for its functionality and its reliability. Translating and getting familiar with the software were both time consuming. Only after that, the data could be analysed.

The transferred data show less than if the material would have been provided according to the ASTERIX format. In the meantime, the OM has hired external expertise.

The OM has informed the judicial authorities of the Russian Federation that an additional request for legal assistance will be sent. It will still take considerable time to analyse the radar images.

Censor.NET has been reporting about the investigation of the catastrophe of Boeing MH17 over Torez in the Donetsk region on July 17, 2014, and published exclusive photos of the hangar and the submunitions of Russian missile Buk-M1-2, featured in the criminal investigation. Prosecutor's Offices of the Netherlands and Australia have prepared convincing evidence. It was established that submunitions that hit the Boeing exactly match those from the warhead of the latest Russian anti-aircraft missile Buk-M1-2. The system was developed in 1997, put into service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 1998, and was never delivered to Ukraine.

In November 2015, President Poroshenko visited the Netherlands and said that Ukraine was using its membership in the UN Security Council for investigation of the MH17 tragedy.

In spite of this, we and our partners are working and doing everything necessary to ensure accountability of all those behind this tragedy," the head of state remarked.

On Sept. 28, 2016, the Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team (JIT) came up with a report on the first official results of the probe into the MH17 tragedy.

The JIT said the plane was shot down with a Buk missile launched from a separatist-controlled area. The missile launcher arrived there from Russia, while some 100 people were involved in its transportation and shooting, the investigators note.

NATO urges Russia to withdraw troops from Abkhazia and South Ossetia

The NATO secretary general has called on Russia to respect the territorial integrity of Georgia.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, speaking at a press conference in Brussels, called on Russia to reverse its recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and withdraw its troops from Georgia, Censor.NET reports.

"NATO is strongly committed to Georgia's security and territorial integrity. We are concerned by Russia's deepening relations with the Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions of Georgia. We call on Russia to reverse its recognition of these regions and to withdraw its forces from Georgia," Stoltenberg said.

He added NATO will continue to work together and to provide the practical tools to help Georgia advance toward eventual NATO membership.

Moscow recognized Abkhazia as an independent state after hostilities broke out between Russia and Georgia in 2008.

Ukrainian authorities seek military solution to Donbas conflict, claim subversive activities in Russia, - Putin

The Ukrainian authorities are intent on disrupting the Minsk agreements by escalating the situation in the country's southeast.

This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Federal Security Service board, Censor.NET reports citing the Kremlin press service.

"We also see the recent serious flare-up in southeast Ukraine. This escalation pursues the clear aim of preventing the Minsk agreements from going ahead. The current Ukrainian authorities are obviously not seeking a peaceful solution to this very complex problem and have decided to opt for the use of force instead. What is more, they speak openly about organizing sabotage and terrorism, particularly in Russia. Obviously, this is a matter of great concern," he said.

As previously reported, the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas agreed on the withdrawal of proscribed military hardware until Feb. 20.
