Brexit: House of Lords approved new amendments to the bill
House of Lords of the British Parliament supported the adoption of the new amendments to the bill on Brexit, according to which the government must agree on a final agreement on a way out of the EU Parliament.
It is reported by BBC.
With the adoption of the amendment to the bill on Brexit, already approved by the House of Commons voted 366 members of the House of Lords.
According to this amendment, the government will have to get parliamentary approval for a final agreement with the EU or permission to withdraw from the union without an agreement with Brussels.
Now Brexit bill to go back in to the House of Commons, while it may refuse to make the amendments to it.
It is noted that this is the second defeat of the British Prime Minister Theresa May, which called Lords to accept the document without amendments. She promised to start the exit from the EU by the end of March, but the House of Lords decision because the bill is delayed.
Earlier, on 2 March, the House of Lords demanded that the government guarantee EU citizens the right to stay in Britain after its withdrawal from the EU.
