This is stated in a joint report by the Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Wark and Vice-Chairman of the Joint Staff Committee Admiral James Uinnefelda at the hearing, held on Thursday in the US House of Representatives.
"The Russian Federation continues to violate its obligations under the INF Treaty. Despite the claims of the Russian Federation, we, as before, to comply fully with our obligations, "- noted in the report submitted to the Committee for the US Armed Forces.
At the same time the military leaders of the United States stressed that Washington's goal is to return to Russia to perform the contract and maintain its viability.
"We will not allow Russia to obtain a significant military advantage by violating an agreement on arms control. We develop and analyze options for responding to the president (Obama - "Commander in Chief"), and we will consult with our allies, "- the document says.
Wark and Uinnefeld also drew the Committee's attention to the abuse of Russia's nuclear rhetoric. "As a result of the violation by the Russian Federation's sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the senior Russian officials have made numerous allegations of Russian nuclear forces, their capabilities and intentions. These statements were both veiled and non-veiled attempt to intimidate us and our allies, "- noted military leaders.
At the same time, they stressed that Russia's actions, including irresponsible saber-nuclear weapons "only strengthened the solidarity within the Alliance and was forced to take measures to curb the further Russian aggression."
