US President Donald Trump confirmed that he has completed a secret rebel support program that opposes the Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.
According to Tsensor.NET , referring to Radio Liberty , Trump wrote on Twitter on July 24th.
"The Washington Post fabricated the facts about the expiration of massive, dangerous and profligatory payments to Syrian rebels fighting with Assad," Trump says.
This tweet is an answer to The Washington Post, which states that cooperation with Moscow has become Trump's key strategy in Syria.
Tramp's remarks were made public a few days after the head of the US Special Operations Force, General Tony Thomas, said the four-year operation to support anti-government rebels in Syria had come to an end. However, the general denied that this decision was taken to the satisfaction of Russia, which supports Assad.
At the talks in Hamburg on July 7, the United States and Russia agreed to create zones of de-escalation in southern Syria.
