The United States invited the UN Security Council to cut DPRK's export revenues by $ 1 billion

A resolution toughen sanctions on North Korea initiated by the United States provides for a ban on the export of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, ore and seafood, told Reuters a diplomat who wished to remain anonymous.

The UN Security Council plans to approve a resolution initiated by the United States on August 5 that will reduce the dollar's annual Dollar exchange income from exports by $ 1 billion , a diplomat who wished to remain anonymous told Reuters.

According to him, now the annual export income of North Korea is estimated at $ 3 billion. The ban will concern the export of coal, iron, iron ore, lead, ore and seafood.

In addition, the initiative sets a ban on increasing the current number of North Korean workers working abroad, on new joint projects with the DPRK and on any new investments in current joint projects.

The diplomat stressed that there was "great confidence" that Russia and China would support the draft resolution.
It is noted that the strengthening of sanctions is the answer to the test of the two intercontinental ballistic missiles of the DPRK in July.

In 2016, the UN Security Council adopted a number of resolutions imposing economic sanctions on the DPRK.

On June 3, 2017, members of the Security Council unanimously approved a draft resolution extending sanctions against North Korea.
