on Wed Aug 09, 2017 1:28 pm
DPRK authorities dismissed Pastor Lim Ham So of Canada sentenced in 2015 to life imprisonment for "subversion against the state."

It was reported by the Associated Press with reference to the North Korean agency.

Lim Han Song was released on "humanitarian grounds" by the decision of the DPRK Central Court - the highest judicial authority in the country.

No other details, including whether the Canadian has left North Korea, the agency did not report.

Lim Hong Song, who has been engaged in charitable activities since 1997, has visited North Korea more than a hundred times in total.

He was arrested in February 2015 with charges of subversion. Subsequently, DPRK television showed a video where Lim Hin Su claimed to be guilty. In January 2016, the North Korean court sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Earlier it was reported that Canada sent a delegation to North Korea to release its citizen.

Recall that on June 19, 2017, an American student, Otto Wormbeer, died in the United States after being released from jail in North Korea, where he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Otto Vormbier was 23 years old. He came to North Korea in the winter of 2015, along with a tourist group. He was arrested for trying to steal a propagandistic slogan from Pyongyang Hotel.

The Supreme Court of North Korea has sentenced a student from the United States to 15 years in a correctional labor colony. After the trial, he spoke at a press conference in Pyongyang and found guilty.

In June 2017, it became known that Vormbjär, after releasing his custody in North Korea, returned to the United States in a coma . The Wormbear was examined by doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Ohio.

In North Korea, then it was stated that Vormbjär was infected with botulism and fell into a coma after taking a sleeping pill last year.
