DNA of Yurii Rossoshanskyi charged with murder of lawyer Iryna Nozdrovska was found on the victim’s body.

"DNA test results: the DNA of the tissues found on the victim’s body matches the suspects’ one," Abroskin told a briefing on Wednesday.

According to him, the experts carried out about 70 examinations. Abroskin added that a number of items, including knives, were found in the river while preliminary findings indicate that one of the items could possibly be used as a murder weapon.

Speaking about searches in the suspect's house, the criminal police chief said: "We have seized some clothes with visible spots that shall be examined."

He believes that Nozdrovska’s murder was not premediated, but was consequence of a conjuncture.

Abroskin considers it inappropriate to assume that the age and physical condition of the suspect would prevent him from committing a crime noting that he is a physically fit person.

The law enforcer did not disclose the exact number of stab wounds inflicted on the victim having only mentioned that there were more than 10 of them.

Dwelling on his conversation with the suspect, Abroskin said that Rossoshanskyi fully acknowledged his guilt, gave consent for a crime re-enactment, showed the murder scene, and how exactly the injuries were inflicted. "He admits his guilt but shows no remorse of the crime he committed," the police official said. He added that the suspect disclosed the details of the murder at the scene during the crime re-enactment.

"He told me his life story, why it happened. He said that his son actually hit and killed the victim’s sister by a car in 2015," Abroskin stressed.
