The staff of the Van Gogh Museum found two previously unknown paintings by the world-famous painter-post-impressionist in the repository
This is reported on the official website of the museum.
One of the paintings found by the workers is Vincent Van Gogh's picture of Montmartre Hill with a Stone Quarry, which the artist probably painted in March 1886.
The fact that the picture was written by Van Gogh, confirmed after extensive research on the theme, style, technique, materials held in the museum. The drawing was in the art fund Van Vlissingen and was considered the product of an unknown author.
As a result of this discovery found another similar picture. It is called the "Montmartine Hill", which Van Gogh also drew in 1886. About it was known for a long time, but the researchers questioned his belongings to a Dutch artist.
"These two drawings are clearly made with one hand and stylistically reminiscent of Van Gogh's drawing drawings beginning in 1886. The materials used are identical, and these two works show how the artist was looking for his style," the experts said.
Now these pictures can be seen at the William Singer Museum in Laren, NL.
-At the exhibition of the works of the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani in Genoa, all the paintings, except one, turned out to be fakes.
