UKRAINE - Ukraine News in brief. Wednesday 7 March. [Ukrainian sources] Empty It became known that Putin's sharp fall in the major cities of Russia

Wed Mar 07, 2018 10:46 am
It became known that Putin's sharp fall in the major cities of Russia

The rating of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow and St. Petersburg for the month fell by more than 12% - from 69.7% on January 10 to 57.1% on February 18.

This is the Russian edition of Vedomosti.

In other cities-millionaires of Russia, the fall of Putin's rating for the same 12% occurred before the New Year, after which it increased by only 2%. A similar trend is observed in cities with populations from 100 000 to 500 000 people and up to 100 000 people. Putin's rating remains stable only in cities with 500,000-950,000 inhabitants and in villages.

Valeriy Fedorov, General Director of the HCTS, believes that such indicators are characteristic of the campaign stage, when people also mention other politicians.

"In the big cities, the factor of fear and administrative pressure is weaker. In addition, their inhabitants are above the bar of requirements, more sources of information, so they are more critical to power," - added Fedorov.

As the source close to the Russian president's administration says, Putin's fall could be attributed to lack of activity and mistakes during the election campaign:

"In reality, the figures are much lower. The real turnout is at best 55-60%, Putin's results range from 50% to 65% depending on the region." If 50% will emerge in Moscow, this will be a feat, "the source said.

More can not be ignored: the United States pointed to a number of serious challenges for the Kremlin within Russia

Opposition forces and population dissatisfaction with the situation in the country are gradually gaining ground, which makes the Kremlin look for different options for strategies.

This is stated in the material of the private American intelligence-analytical company Stratfor, which is at the disposal of the "Apostrophe".

"When the Kremlin faced serious challenges and a disappointed electorate, various opposition groups succeeded in forming a political agenda, raising the level of debate in the press, spreading their messages across the country through social networks, and endangering the control of" United Russia "at other levels in the state. All this would have been unthinkable ten years ago. Although no candidate threatens Putin's fourth term, the opposition debate has risen to a level that the Kremlin can no longer ignore, "the report said.

The best strategy for the Kremlin is to include opposition politicians in their system, to find a common solution and to neutralize them.

"The Kremlin is waging various strategies to cope with growing dissatisfaction in the country and strong opposition, as Moscow's time to ignore dissenting views has come to an end. In the coming months, the Russian authorities will have to take rigorous measures to combat poverty and economic problems, as well as look for answers to different expectations of the new generation and calls for reforms", - experts of the company Stratfor consider.

There will be a catastrophe: Putin called the condition for Russia to use nuclear weapons

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Kremlin could decide to use nuclear weapons only as a response to a strike.

He said this in an interview in the movie "World Order 2018", according to RIA Novosti.

"As for the issue directly (the use of nuclear weapons, ed.), Of course, it is very important, extremely sensitive. I want to tell you, and that we learned about it from our country and abroad. Our plans of use, I hope, never do this will be, the theoretical plans of application - this is the so-called answer, a counter strike", - said Putin.

In addition, he voiced the exact condition for the use of such weapons.

"The decision on the use of nuclear weapons can only be taken if our missile warning systems detected not only the launch of missiles, but also gave the exact forecast and flight path and the time of the fall of the main parts into the territory of the Russian Federation. This is called a response, a counter strike, when we have a legitimate right to answer ", - added the head of the Kremlin.

Putin stressed that this would be a global catastrophe for humanity.

"But as a citizen of Russia, as the head of the Russian state, I want to ask: why do we have such a world, if not Russia?" he summed up.

Someone deliberately pushed us to such a limit - Putin on the occupation of the Crimea

Speaking about the occupation of Crimea in 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that "somebody deliberately moved us to such a limit, being on what we were supposed to act in the way we acted."

Reported Tsenzor.NET with reference to Interfax.

"I sometimes think and think that there are certain reasons for this, that someone deliberately pushed us to such a limit, being on what we were supposed to act in the way they acted," Putin said.

Also, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had no doubt about the use of anti-Russian sanctions after the decision on the occupation of the Crimea by Russia.

"It is unclear to me in what form it will be made, but in making these decisions I, of course, had to bring the Crimea back and possible consequences related to our relations with many countries of the world," the Russian president said.

"I really believe that all of us are there," - Putin actually recognized the delivery of Russian ammunition to the Donbas

UKRAINE - Ukraine News in brief. Wednesday 7 March. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

Russian President Vladimir Putin has actually admitted that Russia supplies ammunition to the Donbas.

As informs Tsensor.NET with reference to LB.UA , this is stated in the film of TV presenter Volodymyr Solovyov "Mirovorokit 2018".

"Today's leadership of Ukraine tells me that ammunition departing from Russia is killing servicemen of the Ukrainian army. When I think about it, it makes me feel very impressive. I really think that there are all of us. But I always want to ask which ones shells and bullets are demolishing the peaceful citizens of the Donbas. We must talk about how to stop all this, how to achieve peace, not ammunition, "Putin said.

Speaking about the events of Eromaydan, Putin said that in the West "should have understood" that it is in the vicinity of the Russian border, and in Ukraine there are many people who associate themselves with Russia.

"For the sake of what all this is happening now? For the sake of poverty? For the sake of illegal work using tourist visas?" - he said.

In Europe, sanctions against Russia tend to "rebound", and the United States fully supports Ukraine

In the European Union, political movements advocating the abolition of sanctions against the Russian Federation and the return of its right to vote in the PACE are gaining momentum in the European Union, and in the United States remain consistent and even increasing pressure on Moscow.

As informs Tsensor.NET, this was told by Ukrinform during his visit to Washington, a people's deputy of Ukraine, PACE Vice-President Volodymyr Aryev.

"Today, we are worried most about the fact that sanctions against Russia have a certain tendency towards a" reversal "in Europe," said the Ukrainian politician, commenting on the topics of talks in Washington with US partners.

He clarified that in Europe one can observe the victories of skeptical parties or parties with pro-Russian views, in particular in Italy, "which could then have a potential influence on the decision to extend sanctions against Russia." In addition, according to him, there are attempts to "make" a turn "of sanctions in the Council of Europe to lift the restrictions imposed on the Russian delegation to the PACE."

In this regard, there are certain risks, said the politician.

"But with regard to the United States, I am quite confident that everything is in the right and just direction," he said.

Answering the question of whether he would raise this issue at meetings in Washington, Aryev noted that this is certainly a topic for discussion.

"At the meetings in the US, we will talk about this situation (with trends in sanctions in Europe - Ed.), And in this case, US partners should understand the risks that exist," the deputy noted.

At the same time, Vladimir Ariev emphasized that during the meetings that had already taken place in the American capital, he saw full support from Ukraine.

"I have traveled many times to the United States when I was in opposition. Now, in my opinion, interest in Ukraine has never been greater, and besides, support - I have never seen such support from Ukraine," - said the Ukrainian politician.

British intelligence considers Russia involved in poisoning ex-colonel GRU of Russian violinist

UKRAINE - Ukraine News in brief. Wednesday 7 March. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

Probable poisoning by Sergei Skripal, a former double agent of the special services of the Russian Federation, and his daughter on British territory are being investigated as an assassination attempt connected with Russia.

This is the British newspaper The Times, referring to sources in the government and counterintelligence in the UK, reports Censor.NET with a link to LIGA.net.

Interlocutors in the country's law enforcement agencies told the publication that the initial evidence in the case testifies to the fact that this is a "state-sponsored murder attempt", and this version is now considered the main one.

Police and MI5, however, say about other versions - an attempt by Russian geopolitical rivals to "compromise" her and Putin's regime, or that it was a private conflict.

Yesterday, British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said that London would use "tough measures" if Russia's involvement in the case was established. The Kremlin claims that it does not understand who is behind the incident, and offers "assistance in the investigation".

As reported by Cenzor.NET earlier, former Colonel of the GRU stockpiles, Sergey Skripal, resident in the UK, convicted in 2006 for espionage in favor of British intelligence services, was injured as a result of poisoning with an unknown substance at the Salisbury City Mall.

Colonel of Military Intelligence. Violinist after retirement worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. He was arrested in 2004, and in 2006 he was found guilty of espionage in favor of London. He was one of four prisoners released by Moscow in 2010 in exchange for 10 Russian spies arrested in the United States. Later, Violin arrived in the UK.

"After I change Ukraine, I definitely want to move to Odesa and become her mayor," Saakashvili

UKRAINE - Ukraine News in brief. Wednesday 7 March. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

Ex-head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Mihail Saakashvili said that he would like to become the mayor of Odesa.

As informs Tsensor.NET, he stated this in an interview with Meduza.

According to Saakashvili, his team has made some successes in Odesa, but this is only a small part of what he wanted to do: "We have achieved something, but we must understand that this is not even a part of what I wanted to do. And in general there was no authority over the Odesa City Hall. Odesa City Hall is completely in the hands of bandits, and these gangsters directly carry money to the presidential administration every month. This is the whole story. So, unfortunately, the very city of Odesa, which I really love, [has not changed at all] , except that we opened several beaches there for people, and even that was not in our authority, we violated the law".

"I have a great debt to the citizens of Odesa. After I change Ukraine, I definitely want to move to Odessa and become her mayor. Perhaps this is the next stage of my career," he concluded.

UKRAINE - Ukraine News in brief. Wednesday 7 March. [Ukrainian sources] Empty Sobchak marked a new loud statement about the return of Crimea to Ukraine

Wed Mar 07, 2018 12:10 pm
Sobchak marked a new loud statement about the return of Crimea to Ukraine

Presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak said that one way to solve the problem of the occupied Crimea is to referendum among the residents of Ukraine and Russia.

She reported this on the air of the radio station "Echo of Moscow".

"When I say, let's return the Crimea to Ukraine, no, I will not say that, because I really know and understand that there are people, and this is also true, with which we must rely on." In Crimea, who want to be part of Russia, they already have These promises have already been made by Russia, they have already issued Russian passports, and despite the fact that I personally consider it illegal, it is unfair that it is a huge loss for Russia and it is only superfluous for all other residents of Russia the money we spend on the Crimea. This is the impoverishment of the country, it is sanctions, it is a huge amount of consequences, as and we'll disassemble it, but nonetheless, these are living people, "says Sobchak.

To solve this problem she proposed the following:

"It is necessary, firstly, to re-raise the question of the legitimacy of the Crimea's accession, and this issue should be re-established in the order. It is impossible to assume now that this issue has been resolved and any statements on this subject are extremist." Second, we must gather various experts. on this topic and decide how to proceed. Or, from my point of view, there are several options for solving this problem, or it is an international referendum involving both the inhabitants of Russia and the inhabitants of Ukraine, since we were in such a situation. In this sense, the result could be NEP arranged for a determined...".

At the same time, Sobchak declared that he would vote against such a referendum, assuming that the same would have been done by other Russians with "correct agitation".

"But these elections can be unpredictable, because, sorry, if you make the right agitation and explain, including Russians, here I am, for example, Russian, Russian, but I understand, and I would vote against. Because these are my taxes, which are going to Crimea - these are the sanctions that hinder development, "said the candidate for the presidency of the Russian Federation.

In her opinion, in such a referendum, the inhabitants of Crimea would vote as part of Russia.

"The people who live in the Crimea must decide now as part of Russia in fact, that is, they also vote, and the people of Ukraine, because the referendum's condition was violated, the referendum was held absolutely, I'm not telling you to tell you...", - summed up Ksenia Sobchak.

Sobchak claimed that he would not conduct election campaigning in the annexed Crimea. She claimed that, having annexed the Crimea, Russia violated international obligations.

According to Sobchak, Kiev and Moscow, it is necessary to hold a joint referendum on the status of the annexed Crimea.

The presidential elections in Russia are scheduled to be held on March 18, 2018, on the anniversary of the Crimean occupation.

We will not reform for the IMF: Poroshenko criticized the Foundation's demands for the creation of the Anti-corruption Court

International donors can not dictate laws of Ukraine, in particular regarding the creation of an Anti-corruption court

This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko in an interview with the Financial Times.

He noted that the demands of the IMF and the Venice Commission that foreign donors had a significant influence in electing candidates to the Anti-corruption court violate Ukraine's sovereignty.

"If foreign donors form Ukrainian courts, this is contrary to the Constitution. We have been reforming not for the IMF but for the Ukrainian people and the future of my country," Poroshenko said.

According to him, he is proud that the Foundation said that within three years of his presidency, Ukraine has made more reforms than in the previous 25 years.

He acknowledged that many Ukrainians who faced with higher prices due to the devaluation of the hryvnia and the increase in the cost of gas did not experience the effects of reforms.

"If people want populists, if they want to have a Venezuelan economy, then they should not vote for me," Poroshenko summed up.

On March 1, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the first reading a bill number 7440 on the Supreme Anticorruption Court.

Recall that the IMF criticized the bill of President Petro Poroshenko on the Anticorruption Court.
The Fund stressed that Ukraine should urgently consider the law on the Anticorruption Court.
European Commission Director General Christian Dainilon said that Ukraine should create an Anticorruption Court to receive macro-financial assistance from the European Union.

The US did not impose "diplomatic sanctions" on Poland through the "historic" law, the State Department

UKRAINE - Ukraine News in brief. Wednesday 7 March. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

The United States has denied reports of "diplomatic sanctions" against Poland.

This is reported by Tsensor.NET with reference to Radio Poland.

Online edition Onet previously reported that, in connection with the amendments to the Law on the National Memory of the United States imposed restrictions on contacts with the Polish authorities at the highest level. The site refers, in particular, to a note from a Polish embassy in Washington, written after a meeting with representatives of the White House. According to Onet, this means that until the dispute over the INP Law is resolved, the American president and vice president will not meet with the president or prime minister of Poland.

However, State Department spokeswoman Heather Noether said media reports on this issue are not true.

"The announcement of a possible suspension of security cooperation or a high-level dialogue simply does not correspond to reality. Poland is a close ally in NATO, and this has not changed, of course, this does not mean that we have no discrepancies with the law that came into force. publicly expressed our appreciation in this matter," she said.

Heather Nauert stressed that the United States would not abandon its allied commitments to Poland.

Recall that on January 26, the Polish Sejm supported an amendment to the law on the Institute of National Remembrance. It is based on punishment for attributing to the Polish people the crimes committed by the Third Reich and other crimes against humanity, peace and war crimes, as well as for the promotion of the so-called "Bandera ideology". The punishment provides for a fine or imprisonment for a term up to three years. The President of Poland Andrzej Duda has promised to thoroughly analyze this law.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he was concerned about the decision of the Senate of Poland. The law was criticized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In Israel, the document caused a flurry of indignation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country "will not cope with distortion of the truth, rewriting history or denying the Holocaust." Most Knesset MPs supported the Israeli bill proposed January 31, according to which the senators of Poland recognize the document as an illegal denial of the Holocaust. The US State Department spokeswoman Heather Noether expressed fears that the law could hurt the freedom of speech in Poland and, noting that the language of "Polish death camps" is really inaccurate and misleading.

On February 6, Anzhe Dud signed a scandalous law and sent it to the Constitutional Court.
