North and South Korea began to disassemble loudspeakers that for decades broadcast propaganda at the border between countries.
As Censor.NET reports referring to UNIAN, this agency told Reuters in the Ministry of Defense of South Korea.
The agreement on the dismantling of speakers was reached at a historic meeting between the leaders of the countries last week. This decision was the first practical step towards reconciliation between countries.
It is noted that during the last decades, with the exception of several breaks, both parties were broadcasted by powerful loudspeakers in the border zone of propaganda, leading a psychological war. South Korea broadcast news, songs from popular Korean performers and criticized the DPRK regime. North Korea, for its part, criticized the government in Seoul and praised its socialist system.
