France no longer insists on the resignation of Assad, - Ambassador Bermann

Ambassador of France to the Russian Federation, Silvia Bermann, said that her country would not insist on removing the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power.

As informs Censor.NET, the Russian edition Kommersant writes about it.

"We will not decide on the Syrian people, but the demand for the unconditional resignation of Bashar al-Assad is no longer discussed. The idea, which was formulated at the Sochi Congress of the Syrian National Dialogue and approved by the UN Special Representative for Syria, provided for the formation of a constitutional committee to work out a new constitution. It seems to me that the Syrian regime does not deal with it yet," said Bermann.

Earlier, United Nations Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nicky Haley, said direct talks between Washington and the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad are impossible.

Also, German Foreign Minister Gayko Maas said that the Syrian President Bashar Assad can not be a party to the settlement of the conflict in that country.  In Ukrainian/український
