US withdrawal from nuclear deal with Iran will cost Boeing and Airbus $40 billion

The decision of the US president Donald Trump to withdraw from nuclear agreements will lead to the cancellation of contracts that have concluded the largest aircraft construction companies with Iran.

As it is noted, after the conclusion of the so-called nuclear agreements with Iran in 2015, the world's largest aircraft companies - American Boeing and European Airbus - have concluded agreements on the renewal of the fleet of Iranian airline companies. The total value of transactions is $40 billion.

According to the report, the aircraft building company after the imposition of US new sanctions on Iran will have to cancel the agreement, which will cause them serious damage.

"The licenses for the export of aircraft to Iran issued by these two companies will be canceled," said US Secretary of State Stephen Mnuchin.

However, if for the American Boeing the decision to terminate an agreement with Iran is no alternative, then Airbus, which is based in the EU, may not comply with it. However, according to Bloomberg, such a decision could lead to sanctions imposed on a European aircraft manufacturer.

"We will carefully analyze the US withdrawal from nuclear agreements. It will take a while, "said Airbus spokesman.

On May 8, US President Donald Trump said the United States would withdraw from an agreement on Iran's nuclear program and reinstate sanctions against Iran.

Iran called the US withdrawal from the nuclear program "illegal".

The EU is concerned about the release of the United States on the nuclear deal and the announcement of new sanctions against Iran.

Also, the "deep concern" of the dissolution of US nuclear agreements was expressed by the United Nations.

In 2015, Iran entered into an agreement with the US and the leading countries to refuse to develop nuclear weapons in exchange for lifting some economic sanctions, including the ban on international oil trade.

The governments of the leading European countries consider the agreement with Iran an important condition for international security.

At the same time, a number of countries, in particular the current US and Israeli administration, express fears that the agreement does not provide firm guarantees for Iran's refusal to develop nuclear weapons.
