China began to negotiate with the European Union and Greece over the solution to the debt crisis in Athens. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Cheng Guoping at a press briefing on Monday.

"China is currently negotiating with the EU and Greece on how to solve this crisis. We believe that through the efforts of all parties it will be possible to settle properly. Because this decision will have a huge impact not only on Greece and the EU, and the global economy as a whole ", - said Chen Guoping.

China has repeatedly said that he supports a united Europe and would like to see Greece in the eurozone.

In Sunday's referendum in Greece more than 61% said "no" to the requirements of European lenders, about 39% have agreed to these demands. The Greek government announced that elections were a victory for democracy. Eurogroup Chairman Jeroen Deysselblum called the results of the referendum "very sad" for the country's future.
