The Kremlin has responded to the terms put forward by Trump for lifting sanctions

The Kremlin said on Tuesday that it endorsed US President Donald Trump's statements about a willingness to cooperate with Russia, but added that he would welcome concrete steps to actually improve relations

Reuters reports.

Trump said he would consider abolishing US sanctions against Russia only if Moscow made something positive for Washington, for example, in Syria or Ukraine.

"I would consider it if they did something that would be good for us. We have many things that we can do for each other. You have Syria. You have Ukraine. You have many other things I think they (Russians, ed.) Would like economic development, and this is an important thing for them, "said Trump.

The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow would like to hear more detailed information about the proposed cooperation.

As you know, in July Trump and Putin met alone in Helsinki. The White House did not disclose the details of the meeting.

Trump is ready to consider lifting sanctions if Russia cooperates with the United States on Ukraine and Syria

Russian - Ukraine News. Tuesday 21 August. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

US President Donald Trump described conditions under which he would be ready to consider lifting sanctions against Russia.

As informs Censor.NET with reference to the " Correspondent, " he said in an interview with Reuters.

Such, according to the American leader, can only happen if Moscow is going to take any steps to cooperate with Washington on such issues as, for example, Syria and Ukraine.

"I would consider such a possibility (lifting sanctions - Ed.) If they (Russians - Ed.) Are prepared to do something in our favor. Without this I will not consider this issue," Trump stated.

Previously, it was reported that new anti-Russian sanctions in the US plan to introduce before the November elections. They suggest the imposition of restrictive measures against Russian state-owned banks and new issues of state debt of the Russian Federation.

US sanctions can lead to an outflow of 8-10% of investors from Russian sovereign debt securities.

In addition, the list of sanctions included 6 merchant ships flying under the Russian flag, and 2 Russian companies owning these ships.

In particular, we are talking about Hudson and Primorye Maritime Logistics.

Microsoft announced an attack on Russian hackers before the US Congressional elections

Russian - Ukraine News. Tuesday 21 August. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

The company broke the attempt by hackers connected with the Russian government to fake the site of the US Senate.

Cenzor.NET reports citing a Microsoft corporate blog.

A group of hackers affiliated with the government of Russia has created fake pages that are similar to sites of state and public organizations in the United States. Cybercriminals have tried to mimic the sites of the US Senate, the International Republican Institute (an agitational democracy organization) and the Hudson Institute, where cybersecurity discussions take place. From these webpages Russian hackers sent emails requiring users to enter their login and passwords. So they wanted to steal data from the real sites of these institutions.

Hackers also mimicked Microsoft Office 365.

According to Brad Smith, president of the company, hackers from the grouping of Strontium, also known as Fancy Bear or APT28, are behind the intervention attempt. Smith stressed that the company had no doubt as to who was responsible for what happened. And he said that the purpose of such attacks was to undermine democracy.

Over the past 2 years, Microsoft has thwarted attacks of hackers from the Strontium group 12 times and closed 84 sites forgery created by these attackers.

Recall that in December 2017, the United States began investigating Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election. In February 2018, US Special Defense Prosecutor Müller filed official charges against 13 Russians who he considers to be involved in this interference.

Earlier, Florida senator Bill Nelson reported that Russian agents broke some electoral systems in Florida and could remove registered voters before the congressional elections in November this year.

And during the US presidential election, cybercriminals were looking for vulnerabilities in 21 state systems - formerly the official spokeswoman for the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Janett Manfry. She suggested that the goals of Russian activity were most of the American states. According to the ministry, hackers, for the most part, tried to explore the weaknesses of American systems than to break them. Manfricia said that now and in further work, the Ministry of Homeland Security focuses on protecting against external interference in a critical US infrastructure.

The Russian side rejected the initiative of negotiations on the exchange of 36 citizens of Russia to Ukrainians

Russian - Ukraine News. Tuesday 21 August. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

The Russian side and the human rights commissioner in the Russian Federation, Tetyana Moskal'kova, rejected the initiative to meet in Minsk to discuss the initiative of Kyiv on the transfer of the Russian Federation to 36 Russian citizens in exchange for Ukrainian political prisoners.

As informs Censor.NET, this was written on its page in Facebook by the first vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Minsk process Irina Gerashchenko.

"Minsk, a two-day round of negotiations of working groups. Unfortunately, the Russian side and the Ombudsman of the Russian Federation, T. Moskalkov, rejected the initiative to meet in Minsk and discuss the initiative of Ukraine to transfer its 36 citizens to the Kremlin in exchange for political prisoners in Russia. I do not officially inform the representatives of the Russian Federation and the OSCE that 22 Russians convicted of preparing for terrorist acts, sabotage, espionage, participation in illegal armed formations and hostilities, wrote an address to President Putin on the request pits to move them to Russia, in exchange for Ukrainians in Russian prisons, we, unlike the Russian Federation, are ready to move them in the shortest possible time - but in exchange for OURS! These appeals are already directed by diplomatic channels at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and in my turn, duplicated them into the humanitarian subgroup and TKG.

"Reminded the representatives of the OSCE and the Russians that today Oleg Sentsov is starving for 100 days, and so far, as did the other captives of the Kremlin in the Russian Federation and in the occupied territories, he was not allowed by the representatives of the ICRC, the OSCE, therefore, discussing the OSCE-initiated resolution on non-torture, yet once emphasized the requirement: the resolution should have a clear rule on the admission of the ICRC to the prisons in the occupied territories and political prisoners in the prisons of the Kremlin without this declaration - a paper. It emphasized that the ICRC has a FULL and unconditional access to prisons in Ukraine, instead of one once was not admitted to prisons in the occupied territories and in the Russian Federation. Therefore, this rule on the admission of the ICRC is so important!" - noted Gerashchenko.

Also, the People's Deputy stressed that Ukrainian hostages are not entitled to telephone calls to families, on letters and transfer.

The Ukrainian side insists that Mr. Frish visit all the military, who for many years illegally detain the bandit, also briefed the coordinator on the appeal of non-governmental organizations and Ukrainian media to the OSCE regarding the requirement to visit journalist Aseyev. She urged the Russian Federation to apply its unconditional influence on its puppets, to stop the torture of a journalist who was forced into forced pressure to "confess" to Russian propaganda cameras in "espionage" and immediately release a journalist.

"The problem is that the ORDLO does not confirm dozens of detainees, they hide them, but Ukraine is required to hand over hundreds of criminals, including Russians convicted." Tomorrow, work will be continued. We are doing our best to bring the next stage closer. the release of hostages", - said Gerashchenko.

On August 16, Human Rights Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Lyudmila Denisova reported that she had already received 22 applications from Russian prisoners in Ukraine addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to return them to the Russian Federation by exchange for one of the Ukrainian political prisoners.

Russian - Ukraine News. Tuesday 21 August. [Ukrainian sources] Empty Russian prisoners intend to forcibly feed Sentsov, who is starving for 100 days

Tue Aug 21, 2018 1:08 pm
Russian prisoners intend to forcibly feed Sentsov, who is starving for 100 days

The Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia will begin to force the illegally imprisoned Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, who has been hungry for 100 days, if "his refusal of food will endanger his life."

According to the Russian Interfax, Ivan Dolinov, Executive Secretary of the Public Observatory of Moscow, reports that Censor.NET has reported.

"100 days of fasting is very difficult, he (Sentsov), of course, should use mixtures, otherwise he would have died. The Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments has its own rules, and if his life is threatened with danger, then he will be forced to be fed," Melnikov said.

"I do not think that hunger is an effective way of defending their rights, it only damages health, but one must understand that Sentsov in this case follows the principle", - said the responsible secretary of the Moscow GSK.

Recall that Oleg Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Gennadiy Afanasyev and Oleksiy Chirnia were detained in the occupied Crimea on May 10, 2014. In August 2015, the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Oleg Sentsov to 20 years of a strict regime colony on charges of alleged terrorist community on the territory of the peninsula.

May 16, 2018 Sentsov Oleg lawyer said, his client was on May 14 announced an indefinite hunger strike. Thus, Sentsov demands the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners who are in Russian prisons.

On August 8, sister O. Sentsova, Natalia Kaplan, reported that he continues to starve in the Russian colony, almost does not get up. "Everything is not just bad, everything is disastrously bad. Oleg sent me a letter through a lawyer, he almost does not get up. He wrote that the end is close, and he is not about dismissal," wrote N.Kaplan on his Facebook page.

After that, L. Denisova turned to Russian colleague Tetyana Moskalkova and chairman of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under the Russian President Mikhail Fedotov asking them to discuss any conditions for the exchange of Ukrainian director for his salvation. The Ukrainian ombudsman emphasized that the situation with O. Sentsov calls for an immediate response in view of the deterioration in his health due to the prolonged hunger strike.

August 14, Sentsov told Russian human rights activist Zoy Svetovoy that his condition is "pre-critical".

Russian - Ukraine News. Tuesday 21 August. [Ukrainian sources] Empty UK's foreign secretary wants Europe to impose fresh sanctions on Russia

UK's foreign secretary wants Europe to impose fresh sanctions on Russia

Russian - Ukraine News. Tuesday 21 August. [Ukrainian sources] Censor_news_big3

On his first visit to the U.S. as foreign secretary this week, Jeremy Hunt is going to call on Europe to impose further sanctions on Russia in response to its "malign" behavior around the world.

As reported by Censor.NET citing BBC, he will call on the EU to replicate Washington's "comprehensive" response to the Salisbury nerve agent attack.

The U.S. is set to ban Russian exports of security-sensitive goods following the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

Europe must engage with Russia but be "blunt" about its actions, he will say.

In a speech in Washington, Mr Hunt will say Moscow must be aware that there is a "serious price" to be paid for repeated violations of the established rules of international conduct.

He will cite "foreign attempts" to manipulate elections as one of the reasons behind the decline in confidence in Western democratic systems.

But he will say governments in Europe must do more to "get their houses in order" by addressing the causes of economic and social resentment associated with the growth of populism, such as the squeeze on living standards and concerns over immigration.

During a three-day trip to the U.S., Mr Hunt - who succeeded Boris Johnson in July - will meet his counterpart, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, as well as addressing the United Nations Security Council about the international fight against the Islamic State group and other Islamist terror groups.

The visit comes as the U.S. is set to ratchet up the pressure on Moscow over the poisoning of former Russian agent Mr Skripal and his daughter in the Wiltshire city in March.

The U.S. State Department is expected to confirm its intention to proceed with a ban on defence exports and certain government financial assistance in response to the attack, which it has blamed on Moscow.

U.S. officials are also expected to warn that further sanctions - including wider curbs on exports and U.S. bank credit to the Russian government - could be imposed after three months without assurances that Russia is no longer using chemical and biological weapons and is complying with inspection and verification procedures.

Mr Hunt will say the Salisbury attack was part of a pattern of behavior from Russia, including the annexation of Crimea and its support for the Assad regime in Syria, which made the world "more dangerous".

Although not expected to go into details, Mr Hunt will call on the EU to "ensure its sanctions against Russia are comprehensive and we truly stand shoulder to shoulder with the U.S."

"That means calling out and responding to transgressions with one voice whenever they occur, from the streets of Salisbury to the fate of Crimea," he will say.

"Those who do not share our values need to know that there will always be a serious price to pay if red lines are crossed - whether territorial incursions, the use of banned weapons or, increasingly, cyber-attacks".

The Foreign Office said Mr Hunt wanted to ensure existing sanctions on associates of President Putin and state-backed entities were having their intended effect and to galvanise efforts to extend them where needed.

Mr Hunt will warn of multiple economic and security threats to the international order and say the once "rock-solid" transatlantic alliance would be further undermined if opponents are "in any doubt about our red lines".
