Trump does not plan to attend the farewell ceremony with McCain

on Sun Aug 26, 2018 9:51 am
American senator John McCain, who died on Saturday, is buried in Annapolis, Maryland, and will be able to say goodbye to the politician in Washington and Arizona.

The News York Times writes about this, informs Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.

"The body of Senator John McCain, who died Saturday at the age of 81, will be installed in the rotunda of the Capitol. The official funeral ceremony will be held at the Washington National Cathedral, the body of McCain, who served for two decades in the navy after graduating from the Naval Academy and representing Arizona in Congress for 35 years will also be taken to the Arizona Parliament where it will be held at Annapolis, Maryland, a burial ground, "the senator's press service said.

It is noted that more than 30 people, "the most prominent citizens of the country", were awarded from 1852 in honor of the farewell ceremony in the Rotunda Capitol. McCain will become the 13th senator who will be given this opportunity.

The official schedule of the memorials will be announced after all preparations have been completed.

The two former presidents George Bush Jr. and Barack Obama offered the farewell ceremony. McCain's funeral is scheduled to be attended by Vice President Mike Pence, but not by President Donald Trump, whose relationship with the senator was quite complex.

John McCain , Senator from Arizona, and presidential candidate in 2008, died on Saturday in the United States on his 82nd year of life.

In 2017, McCain was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a malignant tumor of the brain. Despite the disease, he continued to work in the Senate.

The day before his death, the senator's relatives announced that he had decided to stop the treatment.

Recall Senator McCain, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has consistently criticized the policies of US President Donald Trump. In particular, he published a statement on the meeting of President Trump with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki,in which he stressed: "The press conference in Helsinki was one of the worst performances by the American president, it is difficult to calculate the losses caused by the president's naivete, egoism, false equivalence and sympathy for autocrats, but it is clear that the summit in Helsinki was a tragic mistake. not only is not capable but also does not want to confront Putin. He and Putin seemed to speak in the same scenario that the president made a conscious choice to protect the tyrant from just questions of the free press and to give Putin no the cross platform for the eruption of propaganda and lies of the world."
