In the next five years, Poland will not give up the zloty and enters the euro, he said in an interview with Reuters Krzysztof Schersky, foreign policy adviser of the newly elected president Andrzej Duda.
"The decision to cease production of its own currency should be the decision of the whole nation," - said Schersky, explaining that such a decision would require "direct elections", ie the referendum.
Conducted in April 2015 poll showed that 70% of Poles opposed to the country's transition to the euro, this idea is supported only about 25% of Poles.
"In reality, this means that the debate on the introduction of the euro in Poland would be pointless for the current presidential term, Andrzej Duda," - said Schersky.
Won the presidential election May 24, 2015 Duda takes office on August 6, 2015 and will hold the presidency until 2020.
