The American operator Verizon has launched the world's first commercial 5G network, which is available to residents of Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles and Sacramento.
This is reported by The Verge.
The message says Verizon generally offers users to opt out of the wired Internet. According to their plan routers will distribute Wi-Fi just from the nearest cell tower.
In addition, the speed provided by the new network is not less than when using the leading Internet - 300 Mbps per second. At the same time, the maximum claimed speed is 1 Gbit / second.
The new mobile operator network is based on its own 5G TF standard. It will be used until the standard 5G NR standard is approved.
Recall that in the spring in China, made the first phone call on the 5G network
