Switzerland has found 28 more questionable transactions in the case of FIFA

The prosecutor's office in Switzerland discovered 28 new suspicious banking transactions relating to the case of the possible misuse of funds during the selection of host 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2022 - Russia and Qatar. It is reported by "Deutche Welle" .

"Thus, the total number of cases of suspicious transactions increased to 81. In Russia and Qatar denied any involvement in corruption and are prepared to hold the FIFA World Cup in accordance with the terms" - the report says.

In mid-June, the Swiss Attorney General Michael Lauber said that the prosecutor's office received information from banks about 53 possible cases of money laundering. The investigation, which regards the possibility of bribery in the decision making process of the FIFA World Cup, started in May this year after the arrest of the seven FIFA functionaries. Total corruption charges brought against 14 former and current football officials.

According to the US Department of Justice, they are suspected of receiving bribes for 24 years amounting to more than $ 100 million. The suspects awaiting extradition to the US, where they can be charged.
