The head director of the cult film "Nosferatu" was kidnapped from the Crypt

The head of the German cult film director of silent film era of Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau was abducted from the family crypt in suburban Potsdam Shtandorfe, reports Berliner Morgenpost.

Murnau, who died in 1931, was buried along with his brothers Robert and Bernhard Plumpa. According to the newspaper, the remains of the brothers had not been desecrated. Tagesspiegel notes that the body of the director remained fairly well, so we are talking about the head, and not the skull.

Now the loss of the head director of the local police are investigating. Investigators found traces of a crypt next to the wax, which may indicate the conduct of occult ritual. Previously, the cemetery administration has noted the attempts to get inside the tomb, and is now considering the possibility of closing the access to the tomb.

One of the most famous films of Murnau became "Nosferatu. Symphony of Terror "based on the novel" Dracula "by Bram Stoker. Revolutionary at the time formed the image of a vampire movie in the public consciousness and became one of the most iconic pictures of the silent era.
