The UK's exit from the European Union may take several weeks later than originally planned. If London does not agree with Brussels on the terms of Brexit, it will be a catastrophe for the British economy.

This was stated by the head of the European Parliament Antonio Tayany, reports censor.NET with reference to DW.

The deadline will then be the beginning of July, he added. At the same time, the British "should in any case call us the reason for the transfer," Tayany said.

The head of the European Parliament has particularly emphasized the need to "avoid the biggest mistake" - the chaotic Brexit without an agreement with Brussels. This situation would be unfavorable for the EU and a "catastrophe for the British economy," he said. At the same time, Tayany ruled out the possibility of reviewing a document agreed in November on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU.

Britain intends to withdraw from the European Union on March 29, 2019.

On the eve of the British prime minister, Teresa May, speaking to workers of one of the companies in the port city of Grimsby in the north, said Brexit could not be held at all. "Support the agreement, and the UK will leave the European Union. Discard it, and nobody will know what will happen next," she said.
