The UK Government is considering a deal with "Gazprom" for the purchase of a number of mining companies in the North Sea, writes The Financial Times.
"Gazprom" intends to buy 50% stake in the companies BASF's North Sea offshore platform, including Wingate. The deal should consider the Department of Energy of the United Kingdom, headed by the new Minister of Amber Rudd.
"We look at the details of the deal carefully to assess its impact on how we deal with all the transactions related to the assets in British waters," - the ministry said.
