Under the Moscow Soviet rock musician died on police interrogation

The former drummer of Soviet rock band "The Firebird" Sergey Pestov died in Dubna near Moscow during the interrogation at the police station.

It is assumed that the man had a heart attack. Law enforcement officers explained that the 57-year-old Pestov became ill during interrogation, after which they decided to call the doctor.

When medics arrived at the local police station, the drummer was in a coma. Resuscitation did not help him.

Pestova and a few of his friends were detained on September 4, during a rehearsal in the garage on suspicion of drug use and possession.

Fellow musicians said that police officers hit him several times on the head, but the law enforcement officials stressed that no one beat Pestova.

Drummer's wife Irina says she saw the face of her husband's head and abrasions. Currently being tested circumstances of the incident.

Group "Firebird" created in 1975 by singer and guitarist Sergey Popov. The team often performed at dance parties in Moscow and the Moscow region.
