Vice President HBO offered hackers who stole data on the "Game of Thrones", $ 250,000 in bitcoins for "paying attention to security problems"

This is stated in the published letter, according to the publication Variety .

The letter was published by an anonymous hacker. He was sent on July 27, then, probably, HBO was still trying to estimate the scale of the leak.

As Variety notes, a channel employee conducted a calm conversation with a hacker and seemed to be dragging on time. Vice President HBO asked the hacker to give another week to send the payment, citing the fact that the channel is investigating the stolen material.

The source close to the investigation confirmed the authenticity of the correspondence.
