UN has found enough evidence of war crimes to condemn Assad

The UN International Commission for the Investigation of Human Rights Abuses in Syria has collected enough evidence of President Bashar Assad's war crimes to condemn him.
This was stated by a representative of the commission Charles del Ponte, reports Reuters.
Del Ponte said last week that he left the commission due to lack of results and the failure of the UN Security Council to create a special tribunal for Syria that could try to condemn war criminals.
She said that evidence had been gathered enough to condemn Assad for war crimes.
"Yes, I am sure that the case is ready. That is why the situation is so disappointing. Despite this, there is no prosecutor and there is no trial, "she said.
The Syrian government denies reports by the commission on large-scale war crimes committed by Syria's armed forces and security services.
She emphasized that, despite the evidence, it is likely that the case will not reach the court.
"For six years, the commission has investigated: now the prosecutor must continue his work and bring the war criminals to a special court, but this is exactly what blocks Russia with its veto on the UN Security Council," Del Ponte said.
Recall that at the end of July in Syria , the Asad aircraft caused air strikes near Damascus, despite an armistice agreement.
