Bill on special status of separate areas of Donbas came into force
The Law on creating conditions for peaceful settlement of the situation in separate areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions has come into force.
The bill has been published in Holos Ukrainy governmental newspaper, Censor.NET reports.
According to final and transitional provisions, the law comes into effect on the day following the publication.
The bill introduces amendments to the Law on special order of self-government in separate areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions (ORDLO) dated 2014. The article 1 of the Law has been worded differently and prolongs the special order of local self-government in ORDLO for another year.
As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the Law #2167-VIII "On creation of required conditions for peaceful settlement of the situation in separate areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," passed by the Rada on Oct. 6.
