Russia considers stronger secrecy laws

Russia is debating draconian new secrecy rules that would give the government a veto over any citizen releasing what it deems to be sensitive information to foreigners — an escalation in Moscow’s efforts to fortify the country against perceived external threats.
The draft legislation, introduced in parliament on Friday, aims to make it illegal for citizens or legal persons to pass on any information not previously published to foreign states or international organizations or anyone acting on their behalf without approval from the federal government...................
