NATO is currently discussing the possible participation in the actions of the international coalition against the group "Islamic State."

As reported Tsenzor.NET with reference to Interfax-Ukraine , said on Thursday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"Now we are negotiating over whether the extent to which NATO can make a formal contribution to the efforts of the coalition," - she said during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

Such a statement Merkel made in response to a request for comment on reports that the United States has previously proposed to connect to the NATO international coalition against the IG group.
