Facebook has decided to force users to disclose information about customers of political advertising, published in the social network
This was stated by the founder and head of the social network Mark Zuckerberg on his page.
"When someone pays for political advertising on television or other media, they are legally obliged to disclose who paid for it, and now we bring even more transparency to Facebook," he wrote.
According to the new rules, each advert, not only political, in the social network will necessarily be accompanied by information about the sponsor. Now everyone will be able to see who posted the advertisements, how much they paid, and to track the previous messages of these users.
"With regard to political advertisers, we are working on a tool that will allow you to explore the archive of ads they've launched in the past, and you can also find out how much the advertiser paid, the type of people who saw the ad and the number of impressions," - wrote Zuckerberg.
He also said that the company would attract thousands of people to monitor and begin to use self-learning software to detect political advertising, as is the case with spam.
Facebook is also planning to work with other technology companies to share threat information.
