Hackers steal bitcoins for over $ 70 million

NiceHash cybercrunching service has undergone a hacking attack, which resulted in theft of Bitcoins from its wallet with a total value of over $ 70 million

The NiceHash, based in Slovenia, was forced to suspend operations, at least 24 hours, informs The Wall Street Journal .

"This issue is a huge concern, and we are working hard to fix the situation in the next few days," reads the statement posted on the NiceHash page on Facebook.

Andrei Skrab, Head of Marketing at NiceHash, confirmed that about 4.7 thousand bitcoins were stolen from the cryptographic currency purse.

"This was a professional attack," he said.

NiceHash, which positions itself as the largest landing site for cybercriminals, said it is investigating a hacker attack and plans to resume the service with the introduction of enhanced security measures.



Earlier it was reported that the twin brothers Tyler and Cameron Vincoluwes became the first bits of new billionaires.

Researchers at Power Compare have found that the total electricity needed to finance Bitcoin is greater than electricity consumption in 159 countries worldwide.

The bitcoin course on December 7 rose to $ 15,000, becoming a new record.
