In Iraq, a German woman was sentenced to death for cooperation with the "Islamic State"

A court in Iraq sentenced a woman from Germany to death, who was found guilty of collaborating with militants from the radical Islamists group "Islamic State".

In the court, the prosecution stated that the German provided "material and technical assistance to the militants and in every way helped ID in the commission of crimes."

According to the representative of the Supreme Judicial Council, the woman admitted joining the ranks of the "Islamic State". She reported that she had originally traveled to Syria from Germany, and then found himself in Iraq. Both daughters of the convicted married the militant group.

It is believed that the condemned was born in Germany, but has Moroccan origin.

According to DW, a woman must be executed through hanging, but this sentence can be challenged.

Earlier, the Turkish police detained at least 75 people on suspicion of having ties to the "Islamic state."
