North Korea stops nuclear tests and closes the ground

Kim Jong-il said at a plenary meeting of the Korean Labor Party that his country no longer needed to conduct nuclear tests and tests of intercontinental ballistic missiles, since it has fulfilled its task of developing nuclear weapons, according to the Central News Agency of Korea (KCNA).

North Korea said it would "maintain close contact and active dialogue" with neighboring countries and the international community to create a "supportive international stature" for its economy.

Kim Jong-il also announced that the authorities would close the nuclear test site in the north to confirm the stated intentions.

US President Donald Trump welcomed the announcement of the DPRK government and called it "great progress."

Recall that North Korea first expressed its willingness to discuss the issue of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula during the meeting with DPRK leader Kim Jong-il with US President Donald Trump.
