Muslims challenge the decision of the Austrian government to close the mosques and expel the imams

on Sun Jun 10, 2018 4:14 pm
The leader of Muslims in Austria, Ibrahim Olgun, said his organization would legally challenge the government's decision to close seven mosques and expel the imams.

This is reported by the BBC.

Olgun called the government's decision "an insult to all Muslims in Austria."

According to him, the national Muslim organization was not informed in advance about the cessation of the work of mosques and the reasons for such a decision.

It was previously reported that Austria sent several imams, suspected of having ties to Turkish nationalists, and closed seven mosques because of "the spread of political Islamism." Altogether around 60 imams and members of their families can be affected by the law.
