Suspected spy suspects in the United States, Mary Butina, told that she received financial assistance from Russian billionaire Konstantin Nikolayev
The Washington Post reports.
According to the publication, Nikolayev confirmed his acquaintance and meeting with a woman, but according to his secretary, he never met with US President Donald Trump, and funded a woman-created organization "The Right to Weapon".
However, Nikolayev's son, Andrew, who studies in the USA, took part in the 2016 campaign to support Trump's candidacy for the post of US president, according to a man who is familiar with his activities.
According to eyewitnesses, Nikolayev was also spotted at the Trump International Hotel in Washington during the inauguration of Trump in January 2017.
