US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo and Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland have discussed with the phone a number of topical issues of international politics, including the situation in Ukraine

This is stated in an official report of the US Department of State, Ukrinform reports.

"US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo today spoke with Canada's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Christopher Freeland," said the US Department of State spokesman on Saturday.

. It is noted that the parties discussed the situation around Saudi Arabia and Canada's calls for the release of human rights activists.

"The Secretary of State also discussed the issue of Iran and Ukraine," the US foreign ministry said.
