Indonesian teenager Aldi Novel Adelaung rescued a Panamanian ship after 49 days on the high seas
This is reported by CNN.
The young man worked on a special trap for fish, which was fixed to the seabed by a rope. His job was to light special lanterns for fish bait.
But in the middle of July, strong southern winds caused high waves, which tore the anchor rope and carried the young man to the sea.
"Every time he saw a large ship, he hoped for salvation, but more than ten ships flew past him, but neither of them stopped or noticed Aldy," said Fajar Firdaus, a diplomat at the Consulate of Indonesia in Osaka.
In the end, his cries of help were heard from a ship under the Panamanian flag, which he saved on August 31. Later, the young man arrived in Tokuiama port in Japan and received medical treatment there. At the moment, Aldy is quite healthy and has already returned to the family.
