NATO believed that the Greek side transmits Russian secret data that is obtained from the Athens allies in the North Atlantic Alliance, said on Wednesday the US edition of The Daily Beast, citing informed sources in the Western secret services.

"Many NATO fear that the information is shared with Greece, including intelligence, is in Moscow", - the newspaper writes.

It quoted an unnamed senior NATO official, who expressed general irritation prevailing in NATO headquarters, where the Greek representatives are watching with growing suspicion.

The American edition reminds that NATO has recently decided to reduce the number of members of the Russian mission to NATO, which, according to Brussels, are mostly scouts. And now there are concerns that these "losses" may be filled with the help of Russia in Greece.

"They (the Greeks - ed) only" technically "on our side. US intelligence has never fully trusted the Greeks "- leads edition of the words of a former CIA officer who was engaged by Greece.

At the same time The Daily Beast, citing sources in Western intelligence services, notes that since the power in a party of SYRIZA in Greece and between Athens and Moscow have started to develop a close relationship, which is already a significant number of Russian intelligence officers working under diplomatic cover in Athens has grown even more.

Friendly meetings between Greek officials and representatives of the Russian special services - the SVR and GRU intelligence fixed NATO concern and debate in Brussels and Washington, said the publication.
