On July 6, Russian musician Andriy Makarevich, actress Leah Ahedzhjakov, writer Victor Shenderovich, and other cultural and artistic figures spoke at the concert in support of the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who was illegally detained in Russia in the hall of the Moscow Society "Memorial".

Many of those who could not attend the concert sent videotapes of their appeals to defend Sentsov, or the words of support addressed to the Ukrainian director. Among them are directors Askold Kurov, Andriy Plakhov, Vitaliy Mansky, Anton Dolin; musicians and performers Andriy Khlyvniuk, Alexei Paperny; party member of the Pussy Riot Maria Alekhina.

Excerpts from his works were read by journalist Victoria Ivleva and poet Lev Rubinshtein. The actors of the "Theater. Doc" performed songs, read excerpts from a play by playwright Olena Gremin, from the stories of Oleg Sentsov.

Everyone who spoke or spoke about the need to support Oleg Sentsov himself and his demands - the release of Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia in every possible way.

"The film and theater community, journalists from Russia, Ukraine, and many European countries have repeatedly addressed the demands of Oleg and the request to the authorities of Russia to stop his persecution," the statement reads.

Let's remind, on May, 16th, 2018 the lawyer Sentsova has informed that his client on May, 14th has declared an indefinite fasting. Thus, Sentsov demands the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners who are in Russian prisons.

The detainee, along with Oleh Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko, on May 31 declared a hunger strike demanding that Sentsova be released.

Another Crimean veteran, Vladimir Baluch, is starving since March 19.

To Sentsov was also joined by former guard Dmitry Yarosh in Russia Alexander Shumkov.

The #SaveOlegSentsov Global Action in Support of Ukrainian Prisoners of the Kremlin took place on June 1-2 in more than 20 countries of the world. In particular, in Kiev, the action began with a flashmob - activists in "prison robots" with chains silently walked along Maidan, showing the suffering of Ukrainian political prisoners.

The action in support of the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, who is imprisoned in Russia, is taking place in Kyiv.

At the action, friends and acquaintances of the director read out the scene of the story Sentsov, reports Censor.NET with reference to Ukrinform.

The director, actor Akhtym Seytablayev, the leader of the "Boombox" group Andriy Khlyvniuk, the actress Rimma Zyubin and others have already joined the action.

"At the moment, the question is not raised why it came. We must remind everyone, first of all for ourselves," Seytablayev said.

Interfax-Ukraine notes that some activists hold posters with inscriptions: "Oleg Sentsov is starving. Freedom for the Kremlin prison", #FreeSentsov and #SaveOlegSentsov.

Participants of the action one after another read from the scene excerpts from the stories of O. Sentsov.

The action aims to express support to the political prisoner O. Sentsov by drawing the attention of the international community to the situation that happened with the film director.
