The Hague ordered Russia to pay compensation for the "Arctic Sunrise"

International Court of Arbitration in The Hague ordered Russia to pay compensation to the Netherlands for the detention of the ship "Arctic Sunrise" reports "Air Force"

According to the court, the Netherlands' right to receive compensation for the material damage caused by "Arctic Sunrise". According to a spokesman of the court, Russia violated international law.

"The Netherlands believes the payment (with interest) for the material damage ship" Arctic Sunrise "for material and immaterial damage 30 crew members, as well as costs incurred in connection with obtaining a bank guarantee," - says the decision of the arbitration.

The amount of payment will be determined later.

The vessel returned to the Netherlands in August 2014. Activists of the "Greenpeace" claimed that the arrest of the vessel after the Russian needed repairs, to enable it to return to Amsterdam.

In September 2013 the team "Arctic Sunrise" and the vessel itself were detained by Russian authorities in an attempt to hold a protest action at the oil platform in the Barents Sea.

All 30 people on board the vessel were detained on charges of hooliganism, but a few months later were released on bail and later pardoned.
