France has passed a law against fake news

The French parliament has passed a law on fighting fake news that will allow the courts to determine whether the truth messages posted during the election period and whether they need to be deleted.
This is reported by Politico.
According to the law, candidates will be able to demand in the courts the removal of controversial news during the election campaign. The law also provides that Facebook and Twitter will disclose sources of funding for promotional content.
"I am pleased that the Parliament has adopted a balanced and effective text that raises this issue to a large extent, a text that will become a valuable tool for better protection of our democracy," said Minister of Culture Francois Nissen.
This bill can still be appealed by the Constitutional Council of France in connection with possible violations of freedom of speech.
Malaysia has been penalized for distributing fakeware.
The Pope compared the fake news with the temptation of Eve in Eden.
