An ex-deputy head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Igor Romanenko, told this "Apostrophe".
"They are preparing for August 24. Putin also likes to organize various events, for example, to host the Olympic Games, the World Cup, and also spoil the holiday of a neighbor," he says.
In this context, he notes that Putin is forming new factions, raising to the required level the military potential of the Russian Federation.
"And if he does not achieve his goals in political or diplomatic ways, he will go on a military step, and one of the options is a blow to the Independence Day of Ukraine, because he wants to spoil the enemy to hold festive events," Romanenko explained, adding that the exact decision Probably not accepted.
