NBU strengthens official exchange rate to UAH 25.09 to dollar [Engl]

====
Very very slowly the hryvnia appears to be strengthening.
That's probably the best way to do things. For businesses starting to invest in Ukraine - some of which I know in western European countries - they don't need a yo-yo exchange rate. Stability is the name of the game.
Gas prices are low. Ukraine doesn't need to boost the hryvnia in order to buy gas.

By banning these humorous websites - like @DarthputinKGB - twitter will actually make them more popular than ever when they return - in whatever form.
50,000 followers may become 500,000.

Twitter Suspends Russian Satirical Accounts, Raising Free Speech Questions
http://www.themoscowtimes.com/article.php?id=571146&lang=en
A move by Twitter to delete several Russian accounts satirizing Kremlin politics has sparked protests and raised questions about where the technology company stands on issues of free speech.
In recent days, Twitter users noticed the suspension of accounts such as @Russia__Not and @RusEmbassyNot, as well as @SovietSergey and @AmbYakovenkoNot. The latter two used to satirize Russia's foreign minister and the country's ambassador to the United Kingdom, respectively.
But the biggest outcry came when, on Tuesday, Twitter suspended @DarthPutinKGB, a widely popular account that had attracted almost 60,000 followers with its poignant, witty stabs at Russian President Vladimir Putin. Devoted fans were outspoken in their objections, some of them using the #NoGulagForDarthPutinKGB hashtag.

Putin clearly didn't like that.
But he's back for sure! And followers up from 50,000 already to 63,000 )))

Reuters: EU puts brake on visa liberalization for now amid immigration fears
Thu Jun 02, 2016 4:30 am
European Union states held off agreeing to ease travel rules for Georgia on Wednesday, and Turkey, Ukraine and Kosovo should also expect more delays in visa waiving as the bloc turns more cautious amid immigration fears, EU delegation sources said, according to Reuters.
The EU is already making it easier to suspend visa-free travel before it grants such right to more states, most notably Turkey, whose help it needs to control immigration after some 1.3 million people reached Europe last year, Reuters wrote.
While Brussels says Turkey, with a population of 79 million, is making progress on 72 criteria to win the EU visa waiver, Ankara is seen missing an end-June deadline.
EU envoys in Brussels discussed a similar deal for Georgia again on Wednesday but there was no decision, with Germany and France among countries opposed, diplomats said.
"We don't want to stop the whole process. We just want to be more cautious," said a diplomat from one EU state that on Wednesday opposed granting visa-free travel to Georgia.
They may return to the issue next week, before holding their first discussion on the more controversial case of Ukraine. More technical-level meetings on Ukraine are due only on June 14.
After an acceleration several weeks ago, tied to the EU deal with Ankara that sharply cut the number of people reaching Europe from the Turkish coast, talks have now run into trouble over Turkey's refusal to change its anti-terror laws.
Immigration is also a key theme in the June 23 referendum in Britain on whether to leave the EU, struggling after 1.3 million refugees and migrants reached it last year.
The weakening political momentum also complicates the matter politically for the other three countries, diplomats say, with time running out before the summer break. The European Parliament, where a majority is needed to enact such agreements, will hold its last session on July 4-7 and only resume mid-September.
While the lawmakers have started work on Ukraine and Georgia, the parliament's head said they would not open the Turkey file before Ankara met all the benchmarks. Some in the parliament, however, believe it will be a political call.................

The aim of Putin - to destabilize the political system of the Anglo-Saxon world, says political consultant
Thu Jun 02, 2016 5:10 am
This means that it will help those leaders who do not want to associate themselves political correctness
Russian President Vladimir Putin does not adhere to any ideology. It supports not only far-right party in the West, but also any politicians who, he believes, at least in part against the system. This opinion was expressed by Stanislav Belkovsky, a Russian political consultant and journalist, in an interview with The American Interest .
"The aim of Putin - to destabilize the political system of the Anglo-Saxon world. In practice, this means that it will help those leaders who do not wish to be bound by political correctness and who can afford to deal with the "bad guys" - he said.
According to the spin doctor, look Putin in international affairs can be described as follows: "I am a strong leader, I have a huge country with nuclear weapons and rich in minerals, so the world should treat me accordingly. Let me rule as I see fit, and do not touch my fortune in the West. Then I will be a good partner. I will help you cope with lih and to solve many other problems. "
"Putin is inclined to perceive events in Europe through the prism of their own views. The referendum in the Netherlands in Ukraine? The results showed that all are tired of Ukraine - or at least thinks Putin. He feels that his personal triumph is nigh "- said Belkovsky.
"I would say he (Putin - Ed.) Opportunist who considers himself a leader who makes decisions", - summed Belkovsky.
As previously reported, Belkovsky sure: the liberation of Hope Savchenko was no exchange of prisoners between the two countries. " Releasing Hope Savchenko was no exchange of prisoners between the two countries", - the expert.

Rada in session; Live now on Rada tv
Thu Jun 02, 2016 5:10 am
The Rada, otherwise known by Savchenko as the "bazar" , is in session.
Stupid games continue. Liashko and his clowns blocking the forum, but business is sort of continuing.
Liashko - dropping in popularity, so he needs to do something to get himself on tv.
Tymoshenko - the Kyiv Post princess - is suitably attired. Probably Louis Vuitton dress costing 20,000 dollars.
Savchenko is near the forum, but looking somewhat bemused at the stupid goings on.
How long she can stand this is anybody's guess.
If Tymoshenko put her in charge of Batkivshina they would stand a chance, but Tymoshenko is a dictator. So - she will want total control.

Russian militants aggressively demanded OSCE observers to leave area south of bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska
Thu Jun 02, 2016 9:15 am
Militants of the terrorist organization "Luhansk People’s Republic" denied access of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) heading from Stanytsia Luhanska in the direction of occupied Luhansk.
The OSCE SMM press service told Lіga, Censor.NET reports.
The pro-Russian mercenaries behaved aggressively and insisted that the SMM observers left the area south of the bridge in Stanytsia Luhanska.
The terrorists explained their demands by the fact that the SMM observers monitoring the territory controlled by Ukraine were allegedly not authorized to be in that location.
"The observers have just crossed the bridge from the government-controlled territory but were forced to return," the press service said.
The OSCE forward patrol base in Stanytsia Luhanska, which suspended its work in March, continues operating now. The observers record violations of cease-fire around the clock without leaving for the sights impacted by attacks only by night for security reasons.
According to the outlet, there are currently around 10 OSCE SMM observers in Stanytsia Luhanska.
The militants have recently stepped up attacks on the village. The OSCE SMM recorded more than 200 explosions in Stanytsia Luhanska over one night only.

Rada launches judicial reform, passing new wording of law on judicial system, status of judges
Thu Jun 02, 2016 9:55 am
Some 281 MPs voted for the wording of law No. 4734 on judicial system and status of judges proposed by the president.
Now judges will be transferred from one court to another not by the president but the Higher Council of Justice. However, they will be appointed by the head of state on the proposal of the Higher Council of Justice.
The law establishes a procedure of selecting and appointing judges. The Higher Qualification Commission of Judges holds a qualification examination, verification of candidates within the law to combat corruption, as well as a tender for vacant positions of judge. The commission puts applicants forward to the Higher Council of Justice, which decides on nominating the candidate to the president of Ukraine for appointment. According to the law, a judge of the Court of Appeals can be a person who confirmed professional ability on the results of qualification evaluation, with experience of judicial work of 5 years, research experience in the field of law of not less than 7 years, professional experience of lawyer or conducting defense in criminal prosecution for at least 7 years.
The law establishes the powers of judges, appointed for five years prior to the entry into force of this act, will terminate with the completion of the term for which they were appointed. Upon completion of their powers, they can be appointed as a judge on the results of a tender to be conducted in a manner prescribed by this law.
"This is an important point, which stipulates that all the judges, who were appointed to the post for five years, will be on general grounds put forward to the competition and, if approved, may continue to hold their post," head of the legal policy and justice committee Ruslan Kniazevych said..................

Washington Post: As fighting surges again in Ukraine, an environmental disaster looms
Thu Jun 02, 2016 10:12 am
Land mines and sniper fire, tank traps and unexploded shells have shut down Highway 20, the main artery into eastern Ukraine's separatist stronghold of Donetsk. But despite the upheavals caused by two years of war, ordinary life along the route has struggled on.
As violence surges again, that could change.
One building near the desolate arc of tarmac is a water-filtration plant, staffed by 117 Ukrainian engineers and others. Hundreds of thousands of civilians on both sides of the front line depend on this crucial public utility, a symbol of resilience in an intractable conflict that has cost more than 9,000...............

OSCE monitors have been told by Donetsk residents that armed men from the so-called “DPR” were using the roofs of their buildings to fire weapons,....

Latest from OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine, based on information received as of 19:30, 1 June 2016
Thu Jun 02, 2016 3:09 pm
http://www.osce.org/ukraine-smm/244356
....In relation to the implementation of the Addendum to the Package of measures, in violation of the respective withdrawal lines, an SMM long-rage unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) spotted in “DPR”-controlled areas: 12 tanks in Budonivskyi district (6km south-west of Donetsk city centre); eight tanks in Leninskyi district (4km south of Donetsk city centre), and four tanks in Kalininskyi district (5km east of Donetsk city centre).
The SMM continued to monitor the withdrawal of heavy weapons foreseen in the Minsk Package of Measures.
In violation of respective withdrawal lines, the SMM UAV spotted five weapons systems assessed as multiple launch rocket systems (BM-21 Grad, 122mm) and one self-propelled howitzer (2S1 Gvozdika, 122mm) in “DPR”-controlled Budonivksyi district of Donetsk city, four self-propelled howitzers (2S3 Akatsiya, 152mm) in “DPR”-controlled Mineralne (10km north-east of Donetsk), three towed artillery systems (assessed as 2A65 Msta-B, 152mm) in “DPR”-controlled Yakovlivka (10km north of Donetsk), and one surface-to-air missile launcher (9K33 Osa, 210mm) in “DPR”-controlled Korsun (31km north-east of Donetsk).....
Armed “DPR” members continue to keep the power supply to SMM’s repeater in Donetsk city disconnected as they have been since 20 May. As a result, SMM remote monitoring equipment at “DPR”-controlled Oktiabr mine and in government-controlled Avdiivka are disabled (see SMM Daily Report 21 May 2016).
=====

And the Greek scumballs want sanctions lifted?
Pure and utter scum - the Greek people.
Apparently the last osce long range uav has been shot down by Putin's Russian forces.
