The refusal of the Russian Federation to participate in the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is a "disgrace." This was stated by Secretary General of the Assembly, Spencer Oliver.
Oliver said that the leadership of the Assembly regrets that the draft resolution condemning Russia for the "military aggression" against Ukraine and demanding "the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of a neighboring state," had to accept without representatives of the Russian delegation.
"It's a shame that the Russian delegation did not participate in this session, but it was her choice, not ours," - said Spencer.
It is reported that the Russian Federation has refused to participate after Finland denied entry to the Speaker of the State Duma Sergei Naryshkin and several politicians. The incident in the Kremlin called outrageous.
In addition, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the Parliamentary Assembly, in adopting resolution on the Russian aggression, engaged in "propaganda affairs."
